지역혁신체제관점에서의 대전·충청지역 중소기업 혁신성과 결정요인에 관한 실증적 연구

An Empirical Study on the Determinants of Innovation Performance of SMEs in the Daejeon and Chungcheong Region

초록

본 연구는 대전충청지역의 지역혁신체제의 특성 및 지역 내 기업 혁신성과 결정요인을 규명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 분석의 대상지역인 대전충청지역은 대학, 연구소와 같은 연구기반과 대규모의 하이테크 산업단지, 이들 지원하는 혁신지원네트워크를 잘 갖추고 있다. 기존의 지역혁신체제 연구의 한계점을 보완하기 위해서, 기업의 내부적 요인인 내부역량과 외부적 요인으로서 지역혁신역량을 모두 고려하여, 이들이 기업의 혁신성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석한다. 기업의 연구개발역량, 마케팅역량, 기업가지향성과 지역혁신역량이 혁신성과에 영향을 미치는 지와 지역혁신역량이 내부역량들과 기업가지향성과 혁신성과의 관계를 조절하는 가를 분석하였다. 실증분석 위해 대전 충청지역 중소기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하여 120개의 설문을 회수 하였으나 부실응답 56개를 제외한 64개의 설문지가 연구 데이터로 사용되었다. 요인분석과 위계적 회귀분석을 활용하여 실증 분석한 결과 기업의 연구개발역량, 마케팅역량, 기업가 지향성으로 측정한 내부역량이 기술혁신성과에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 기업의 내부역량이 혁신의 가장 중요한 요인임을 주장한 기존의 연구결과를 지지하는 것이다. 그런데 기업가지향성은 혁신적이고 진취적인 기업가 지향성만이 혁신성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 위험감수적 기업가지향성은 혁신성과 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 지역혁신역량도 기업 혁신성과에 통계적으로 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지역혁신역량은 위험감수적 기업가지향성과 혁신성과의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 확인되었다.

This study aims to identify the characteristics of the regional innovation system(RIS) and the determinants of innovation performance of SMEs. Data were collected from a questionnaire survey on 64 SMEs in the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions to uncover the relationship between capabilities, regional innovation capacities and innovation performance. The moderating effects of regional innovation capacities on the relationship between firms' innovation capabilities and performance were also tested. Empirical results revealed that R&D, marketing and entrepreneurial orientation had positive effects. The moderating effect of regional innovation capabilities on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (risk taking) and performance was also confirmed.
