초록

The global warming has caused unusual weather and a rise in temperature. Therefore heavy-snowfall warning has consistently increased in our country. But the latest meteorological data and the unusual weather of the 2000s have not been reflected properly in Korean Building Code(KBC2009). That is why this study suggests snow load map that is applying to revise KBC2009. Thirty-eight meteorological observatory have been selected among fifty-five observatory of the whole country that have more than 10 years of data of cumulative maximum depth of snowfall and daily maximum depth of snowfall. Depth of snowfall for 100-year return period was estimated using Gumbel's moment method and Graphic method on the basis of those data. Also, snow load for 100-year return period was calculated using depth of snowfall for 100-year return period and unit weight of snow of KBC2009. It is shown that the compatibility error for Gumbel's moment method was over 50% and Graphic method was below 10%. It is known that Graphic method is suitable for analysing extreme snow data in Korea. Finally, the four maps of snow load and depth of snowfall were drawn by using the results of Graphic method. The snow load map proposed in this study had been used KBC2016.
