초록

The purpose of this paper is to reveal the system and process of the repair work of Daeungjeon, the maintemple of Gesim-sa, during Japanese colonial era. For this purpose, the official documents produced by the Government-general Museum of Joseon were analyzed. The documents, including the repair work of Gesim-sa Daeungjeon, provide clues for acknowledging the circumstances of repair works during the late colonial era. The Bureau of Education(學務局) of the Government-general of Joseon had the right of final decision, leading the whole repair process, and controled Gesim-sa's properties on pretense of repair subsidies. Meanwhile, the Bureau's conservation activity had declined rapidly during World war II. Therefore, the Gesim-sa had actively participated in the repair work with Japanese technicians to urge the Bureau to continue the repair work.
