칠면조에서 분리된 Avian pneumovirus(APV)의 쥐의 감염성에 대한 연구 (Murine susceptibility to Avian pneumovirus (APV) of turkey origin)

  • 칠면조에서 분리된 avian pneumovirus(APV)의 포유동물 전파 여부를 확인하기 위해 Balb/c 쥐에 감염을 시도하였다. APV롤 3주, 5주, 7주령의 실험동물에 비강내 감염시킨 후 감염동물과 동거동물의 임상증상 및 조직내 바이러스 유전자 존재 여부등을 확인하였다. 감염 동물 및 동거 동물에서 임상증상은 나타나지 않았으나 감염 6일후에 혈액, 폐, 기도, 구강 및 직장 시료에서 RT-PCR 방법으로 APV의 유전자를 검출할 수 있었다. 14일 후에는 혈액에서는 유전자가 검출되지 않았으나 혈청내 항체를 확인할 수 있었다. 동거동물에서는 폐와 직장시료에서 PCR로 APV를 검출할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과로 칠면조 유래 APV는 실험쥐에 감염되어 직접 접촉에 의한 전파도 가능하다는 것을 알수 있었다.

  • 칠면조에서 avian pneumovirus(APV)의 지속감염성 여부를 조사하였다. 칠면조에 APV를 감염시킨 후 4일, 3주, 6주, 9주 후에 건강한 칠면조와 합사하였다. 감염 3주 후에 합사한 건강한 칠면조에서 10일까지 2수에서 APV 유전자를 검출할 수 있었다. 또한 감염 6주 후에 합사한 경우에서도 5일까지 RT-PCR법으로 유전자를 검출할 수 있었다. 그 이후로는 감염칠면조에서 건강한 동물로 전파되었거나 지속감염을 관찰할 수 없었다. APV는 감염 후 6주까지 지속적인 감염을 통해 건강한 동물에게 질병을 전파시킬 수 있다.

A Comparative Study on Over-The-Tops, Netflix & Amazon Prime Video: Based on the Success Factors of Innovation

  • We compare Over-the-Tops (OTTs), Netflix and Amazon Prime Video (APV) with five success factors of innovation. Firstly, Netflix offers better personalized service than APV, because APV has collaborative filtering algorithms to recommend safe bets, not the customers really want. Secondly, APV' user interface is undercooked to lock the members in, even if it has more content and better price offer than Netflix retaining its loyal customers despite the price increase. Thirdly, Netflix has simple subscription model with three tiering, but APV has complicated pricing model having annual and monthly, APV and Prime Video (AV) app, Amazon subscription and extra payment of Amazon Prime Channels (APCs). Fourthly, Amazon has fewer partnership than Netflix especially when it comes to local TV series. Instead, Amazon has live TV channel collaboration including sports content. Lastly, both have strategic and operational agility in their organization well.

  • Along with the remarkable advances in GNSS technology, SBAS further enhances the accuracy and integrity of GNSS location information and derives improvement in the safety and efficiency of air traffic management from reducing GNSS location errors, induced by passing through the ionosphere and atmosphere, to less than three meters. In this regard, ICAO specifies the standards of SBAS signals and recommends every party to phase in by 2025; and it is foreseeable that SBAS APV-I and CAT-I will be provided in South Korea by its undertaking the development of KASS, a Korean SBAS. The purpose of the study is to design SBAS APV-I procedure on the basis of the runway 15L of Incheon International Airport and conduct obstacle assessment according to PAN-OPS Doc. 8168, focusing on the usability and usefulness of SBAS APV-I. The results show that SBAS APV-I will provide better decision height compared to other PBN RNP approach procedures such as LNAV and Baro-VNAV at the Incheon International Airport.

경북지역 산란계에서 Avian pneumovirus에 대한 항체가 및 바이러스 검출 조사 (Examination of seroprevalence and detection of Avian pneumovirus from layer hens in Gyeongbuk province)

  • Avian pneumovirus(APV), also known as avian rhinotracheitis(ARTV), affects both turkeys and chickens and is known to be the primary causative agent of turkey rhinotracheitis(TRT). The aim of this study was to establish the presence or absence of antibodies to APV by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and confirm APV by a reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The tested serum and feces were collected from laying hens in Gyeongbuk province. The positive farms with antibody against APV by ELISA were 90(96.7%) of 93 and positive serum samples were 433(93.1%) of 465 different sera. By regional group, sera from Uiseong, Cheongsong and Bonghwa were noted as 100% positive and positive rates of samples from Yeongju, Andong and Yeongyang were 93.3%, 85.7% and 50%, respectively. However, APV was not detected in feces samples by RT-PCR.

대본청 앵무(Psittacula eupatria )로부터 PCR에 의한 avian polyomavirus 최초 검출 (First detection of avian polyomavirus by PCR from Alexandrine Parakeet (Psittacula eupatria) in Korea)

  • In early April 2014, a month-old Alexandrine Paraqeet (Psittacula eupatria) that was raised in a domestic aviary located in Gyungju-si, Korea was suddenly died and submitted to Animal Disease Intervention Center, Kyungpook National University in order to diagnose the causative agent. In post-mortem examination, the bird had abnormally developed feathers on the neck and abdomen region and subcutaneous hemorrhages on the neck and cheek adjacent to the beak. At necropsy, the bird had hemorrhage on the muscle of the femoral region, ascites, multi-focal hemorrhages on the epicardium, and diffuse hemorrhages on the sub-serosa of proventriculus and gizzard, suggesting typical avian polyomavirus (APV) infection. The partial large tumor (T) antigen gene of APV was detected by PCR from tissues of the heart, lung, liver, kidney, proventriculus and feathers of the APV-suspected birds. However, other pathogenic virus-specific nucleic acid common with psittacine birds such as avian bornavirus, psittacine beak and feather disease virus and psittacid herpesvirus were not detected from the mixed tissue samples of the bird, indicating this case is due to single infection of APV. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the partially amplified large T antigen DNA was confirmed to have 99~100% homology with that of the previously reported APV strains. This case report describes the first detection of APV in Alexandrine Paraqeet in Korea.

  • Avian pneumoviros(APV), also known as avian rhinotracheitis virus(ARTV), affects both turkeys and chickens and is known to be the primary causative agent of turkey rhinotracheitis (TRT). The aim of this study was to establish the presence or absence of antibodies to avian pneumovirus in the commercial poultry population of Korea. For this purpose, chicken serum samples were obtained and tested by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The tested serum was collected in laying hens with reduction of egg production or normal in Gyeongbuk province. A total of 184 sera representing 42 different poultry farms of the Gyeongbuk region of Korea were included in this study. Laying hens of 16 different farms with reduction of egg production and laying hens of 26 different farms with clinically healthy at the time of serum sampling were considered positive to antibody against APV. In the farms with reduction of egg production, positive farm to antibody against avian pneumovirus were 11 of 16 different farms(68.8%) and positive sera were 47(58.8%) of 80 different serum. In the farms with clinically healthy flock, positive farm to antibody against avian pneumovirus were 12(46.2%) of 26 different farms and positive serum sample were 39(37.5%) of 104 different sera. According to the results tested to 42 different farms in 14 city, 8 of 14 city have flocks with antibody positive laying hens against APV, 1 of 14 city have antibody suspicious and 5 of 14 city shown antibody negative, respectively.

메틸수은으로 손상된 골모세포에 대한 NMDA 수용체길항제의 영향 (Effect of NMDA receptor antagonist on Osteoblasts Damaged by Methylmercuric Chloride)

  • In order to elucidate the mechanism between cytotoxicity of methhylmercuric chloride(MMC) and oxygen radicals in cultured osteoblasts of neonatal mouse, cell viability was measured by MTT assay in osteoblasts treated with 1~50 μM MMC for 30 hours. And also, the protective effect of N-methyl D-aspartate(NMDA) receptor antagonist, D-2-amino-5-phosphovaleric acid(APV) was examined by cell viability in these cultures. Cell viability was significantly decreased in dose dependently after exposure of 30 μM MMC to cultured osteoblasts for 30 hours. Protective effect of APV against MMC-mediated toxicity was very effective in these cultures. From above the results, it suggests that MMC is toxic in cultured mouse osteoblasts and NMDA receptor antagonist such as APV is effective in blocking the osteotoxicity induced by MMC.

환경오염원인 납의 신경독성에 대한 NMDA 수용체 길항제의 보호 효과 (Protective Effect of NMDA Receptor Antagonist on the Neurotoxicity Induced by Lead as an Environmental Pollutant)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to evaluate the neurototoxicity of the environmental pollutant lead acetate(LA) and the protective effect of the D-2-amino-5-phosphonovaleric acid(APV), N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA) receptor antagonist on LA-induced cytotoxicity in cultured C6 glioma cells. Materials and Methods: For this study, cell viability in cultured C6 glioma cells was assessed by XTT assay and antioxidative effect, such as lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) activity, by LDH detection kit. Results: LA significantly decreased cell viability in a dose-dependent manner, and the XTT50 value was determined to be 33.3 uM of LA. The cytotoxicity of LA was deemed highly toxic according to Borenfreund and Puerner's toxic criteria. The vitamin E antioxidant significantly increased cell viability damaged by LA-induced cytotoxicity in these cultures. For the protective effect of APV on LA-induced cytotoxicity, APV significantly increased not only cell viability, but also inhibition of LDH activity. From these results, it is suggested that oxidative stress is involved in the neurotoxicity of LA, and APV effectively protected against LA-induced cytotoxicity via an antioxidative effect as an inhibotory activity of LDH. Conclusions: Natural resources like APV may be putative therapeutic agents for the toxic diminution of environmental pollutants such as LA correlated with oxidative stress.

영농형 태양광 시스템에서의 스마트 농업을 위한 의사결정지원시스템 (A Decision Support System for Smart Farming in Agrophotovoltaic Systems)

  • Agrophotovoltaic (APV) system is an integrated system producing crops as well as solar energy. Because crop production underneath Photovoltaic (PV) modules requires delicate management of crops, smart farming equipment such as real-time remote monitoring sensors (e.g., soil moisture sensors) and micro-climate monitoring sensors (e.g., thermometers and irradiance sensors) is installed in the APV system. This study aims at introducing a decision support system (DSS) for smart farming in an APV system. The proposed DSS is devised to provide a mobile application service, satellite image processing, real-time data monitoring, and performance estimation. Particularly, the real-time monitoring data is used as an input of the DSS system for performance estimation of an APV system in terms of production yields of crops and monetary benefit so that a data-driven function is implemented in the proposed system. The proposed DSS is validated with field data collected from an actual APV system at the Jeollanamdo Agricultural Research and Extension Services in South Korea. As a result, farmers and engineers enable to efficiently produce solar energy without causing harmful impact on regular crop production underneath PV modules. In addition, the proposed system will contribute to enhancement of the smart farming technology in the field of agriculture.
