  • In 1940 Eidelheit showed that every homomorphism of a Banach algebra onto the Banach algebra B(X) of all bounded linear operators on a Banach space X is continuous. At about the same time, Gelfand proved that every homomorphism of a commutative Banach algebra into a commutative semi-simple Banach algebra is continuous. In [7] Johnson proved that every homomorphism of a Banach algebra onto non-commutative semi-simple Banach algebra is continuous, and this is still the most important result of this type. In this paper we are concerned with continuity of derivations on commutative Banach algebras and of homomorphisms into commutative Banach algebras. Throughout this paper we suppose that A is a commutative Banach algebra. R will denote the redical of A.

  • Properties of prime filters are studied in BE-algebras as well as in commutative BE-algebras. An equivalent condition is derived for a BE-algebra to become a totally ordered set. A condition L is introduced in a commutative BE-algebra in ordered to study some more properties of prime filters in commutative BE-algebras. A set of equivalent conditions is derived for a commutative BE-algebra to become a chain. Some topological properties of the space of all prime filters of BE-algebras are studied.

  • The spherical non-commutative $\mathbb{S}_{\omega}$ were defined in [2,3]. Assume that no non-trivial matrix algebra can be factored out of the $\mathbb{S}_{\omega}$, and that the fibres are isomorphic to the tensor product of a completely irrational non-commutative torus with a matrix algebra $M_k(\mathbb{C})$. It is shown that the tensor product of the spherical non-commutative torus $\mathbb{S}_{\omega}$ with the even Cuntz algebra $\mathcal{O}_{2d}$ has a trivial bundle structure if and only if k and 2d - 1 are relatively prime, and that the tensor product of the spherical non-commutative torus $S_{\omega}$ with the generalized Cuntz algebra $\mathcal{O}_{\infty}$ has a non-trivial bundle structure when k > 1.

  • The present paper gives a new construction of a quotient BCI(BCK)-algebra X/${\mu}$ by a fuzzy ideal ${\mu}$ in X and establishes the Fuzzy Homomorphism Fundamental Theorem. We show that if ${\mu}$ is a fuzzy ideal (closed fuzzy ideal) of X, then X/${\mu}$ is a commutative (resp. positive implicative, implicative) BCK(BCI)-algebra if and only if It is a fuzzy commutative (resp. positive implicative, implicative) ideal of X Moreover we prove that a fuzzy ideal of a BCI-algebra is closed if and only if it is a fuzzy subalgebra of X We show that if the period of every element in a BCI-algebra X is finite, then any fuzzy ideal of X is closed. Especiatly, in a well (resp. finite, associative, quasi-associative, simple) BCI-algebra, any fuzzy ideal must be closed.

  • The odd spherical non-commutative tori $\mathbb{S}_{\omega}$ were defined in [2]. Assume that no non-trivial matrix algebra can be factored out of $\mathbb{S}_{\omega}$, and that the fibres are isomorphic to the tensor product of a completely irrational non-commutative torus with a matrix algebra $M_{km}(\mathbb{C})$. It is shown that the tensor product of $\mathbb{S}_{\omega}$ with the even Cuntz algebra $\mathcal{O}_{2d}$ has the trivial bundle structure if and, only if km and 2d - 1 are relatively prime, and that the tensor product of $\mathbb{S}_{\omega}$ with the generalized Cuntz algebra $\mathcal{O}_{\infty}$ has a non-trivial bundle structure when km > 1.

  • In this paper, we introduce a BN-algebra, and we prove that a BN-algebra is 0-commutative, and an algebra X is a BN-algebra if and only if it is a 0-commutative BF-algebra. And we introduce a quotient BN-algebra, and we investigate some relations between BN-algebras and several algebras.

  • In this paper we show that if there is a derivation on a commutative Banach algebra which has a non-nilpotent separating space, then there is a discontinuous derivation on a commutative Banach algebra which has a range in its radical. Also we show that if every prime ideal is closed in a commutative Banach algebra with identity then every derivation on it has a range in its radical.

  • The problems of the continuity of homomorphisms between Banach algebras have been studied widely for the last two decades to obtain various fruitful results, yet it is far from characterizing the calss of Banach algebras for which each homomorphism from a member of the class into a Banach algebra is conitnuous. For commutative Banach algebras A and B a simple proof shows that every homomorphism .theta. from A into B is continuous provided that B is semi-simple, however, with a non semi-simple Banach algebra B examples of discontinuous homomorphisms from C(K) into B have been constructed by Dales [6] and Esterle [7]. For non commutative Banach algebras the problems of automatic continuity of homomorphisms seem to be much more difficult. Many positive results and open questions related to this subject may be found in [1], [3], [5] and [8], in particular most recent development can be found in the Lecture Note which contains [1]. It is well-known that a$^{*}$-isomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra into another $C^{*}$-algebra is an isometry, and an isomorphism of a Banach algebra into a $C^{*}$-algebra with self-adjoint range is continuous. But a$^{*}$-isomorphism from a $C^{*}$-algebra into an involutive Banach algebra is norm increasing [9], and one can not expect each of such isomorphisms to be continuous. In this note we discuss an isomorphism from a commutative $C^{*}$-algebra into a commutative Banach algebra with dense range via separating space. It is shown that such an isomorphism .theta. : A.rarw.B is conitnuous and maps A onto B is B is semi-simple, discontinuous if B is not semi-simple.
