초음파 속도 분석을 통한 불국사 다보탑 구조 안전 진단 (The structural safety diagnosis of Dabo Pagoda of Bulkuk Temple using analyses of ultrasonic wave velocity)

  • 경상북도 경주시에 위치한 불국사 다보탑의 구조 안전 진단을 목적으로 탑의 각 부재에 대한 비파괴 정밀 조사가 실시되었다. 암석 부재의 역학적 성질을 추정하기 위해 255개 부재에서 641 지점에서 초음파 속도를 측정하였으며, 그 결과는 P-파 속도 범위가 $584{\sim}5169m/sec$이며 평균 속도는 2876m/sec이다. 일축압축강도는 $93{\sim}1314kg/cm^2$ 범위로 평균치가 $396kg/cm^2$이고, 풍화도지수는 $0.07{\sim}0.88$의 범위로 평균 0.43으로 중간정도의 풍화를 받은 것으로 나타났다. 각 암석부재의 파괴강도와 이에 작용하는 응력을 비교한 결과, 탑의 구조에 관계된 부재들의 상태는 비교적 양호한 상태를 보여주지만, 편하중에 의한 부분 파괴의 가능성이 남아있다. 편하중에 의한 균열이 계속 진행중인지 모니터링이 필요하며, 편하중을 제거하기 위한 대책이 중요하다. 1층 및 2층 옥신부 주변의 난간은 비교적 작은 부재들로 이루어져 있어 풍화가 많이 진전되었지만 구조적 불안정에는 직접 관련이 없다.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the archetype and archetypal forms of traditional Korean landscape patterns through investigating the landscape symbolism of the Bulguk-Sa. This study was performed mainly by both the review of written materials and case study through field surveys. My findings are as follows. Firstly, The decision of Bulguk-Sa site was greatly influenced by the religious backgrounds, the system of contemporary social values and thought at that time. Secondly, The landscape symbolism of the spatial structure based on the form of Mandala and Sumisan, which are parts of Buddhism. Finally, Among the many landscape composing elements, Sukga-Tap, Dabo-Tap, Gupumyoun-Gi and Bumyoung-Ru apparently reveal the symbolic meaning of Buddhism.

  • The fermentation process and subsequent processing determine the efficacy of a bioherbicide propagule. Large batches of biomass of the mycoherbicide agent for white clover, Sclerotium sp.(BWC98-105) was produced in simple liquid fermentator in 5 gallons vessels(Model No. 8087, Dabo Inc., Korea) with oxygen supply(DPH16000, FineTech Inc., Korea) simulating industrial conditions by utilizing commercially available, inexpensive ingredients (10 % rice bran), The maximum biomass yield of Sclerotium sp.(BWC98-105) was obtained after 5 days of air pumped incubation at room temperature condition(22-28$^{\circ}C$). By using this simple facility, it could get fragmented or proliferated greatly and attained maximum mycelia biomass. The biomass of mycoherbicide agent consisted of hyphae devoid of spores. Biomass mycelia of the fungus 99% survival at room temperature after 2 me. A thorough understanding of the effects of fermentation and formulation on viability and virulence is required to guide these processes. After an economical yield level of bioherbicide propagule has been achieved in a fermentation process, formulation becomes a critical factor which influences product efficacy. Because the fermentation must be stopped at a point when virulence/viability are optimum, the live bioherbicide propagule must be stabilized, formulated, and packaged.

향기요법(분향)이 진정 및 항경련에 미치는 실험적 연구 (Study on the Sedative Effect and the Anticonvulsive Effect of Incenses in Aroma Therapy)

  • In order to prove the sedative, anticonvulsive effects of Incenses and to identify the effect of this medicine to cerebral glutamic acid and GABA density in experimental animal. we used Incense which was made of traditional herb medicines. We also examined what kind of material is to be involved in biosynthesis of these elements. In addition we experimented to find out synthesis of active GABA-T. Incenses were inhaled 8 hours a day for 4 weeks to mice. Finally we have following results. On the convulsion induced by pentylenetetrazole(PTZ), Incenses showed significant anticonvulsive effect. Density of glutamic acid in brain was significantly decreased. On the contrary, density of GABA was significantly increased. The Activity of GABA- T in brain was significantly reduced. The quantity of lipid peroxide in the brain was significantly decreased. Activity of xanthine oxidase and aldehyde oxidase were significantly reduced in brain. From the above results, we confirmed that Incenses decreased the density of glutamic acid, increased GABA density and decreased the activity of GABA- T in brain. For the convulsion which was induced by PTZ, Incenses showed significant anticonvulsive effect. With this we can recognize that Incenses had ability to control the quantity of lipid peroxide in brain. In the conclusion, Incenses has significant anticonvulsive effect, so I strongly recommend to prescribe Incenses to treat convulsive disorder like epilepsy.

Effects of vortex generators on the wind load of a flat roof: A computational study

  • Vortex generators are commonly used in mechanical engineering and the aerospace industry to suppress flow separation owing to their advantages of simple structure, economic viability, and high level of efficiency. Owing to the flow separation of the incoming wind on the leading edge, a suction area is formed on the roof surface, which results in a lifting effect on the roof. In this research, vortex generators were installed on the windward surface of a flat roof and used to disturb to roof flow field and reduced suction based on flow control theory. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were performed in this study to investigate the effects of vortex generators on reduce suction. It was determined that when the vortex generator was installed on the top of the roof on the windward surface, it had a significant control effect on reduce suction on the roof leading edge. In addition, the influence of parameters such as size, placement interval, and placement position of the vortex generator on the control effect of the roof's suction is also discussed.

염절임 및 가열에 의한 배추조직의 구조와 펙틴의 변화 (Changes in Tissue Structure and Pectins of Chinese Cabbage during Salting and Heating)

  • 배추의 염절임 및 가열처리 중의 조직구조 변화를 현미경적으로 관찰하고 펙틴질을 분별 정량하였으며 조직의 내부구조를 cytorrhysis로 측정하였다. 배추줄기 조직의 유세포의 세포막은 염절임시 수축 파괴되며 세포간 공간의 포집공기와 세포액은 세포수축과 함께 중엽을 파괴하면서 유출되었다. 배추조직의 펙틴은 주로고 메톡실 펙틴인 pA와 저 메톡실 펙틴인 pB로 구성 되었고 염절임 및 $60{\sim}70^{\circ}C$의 저온 가열시 상당량의 pA는 작용으로 pB로 전환되었고 $80^{\circ}C$ 이상으로 가열처리하면 열분해로 pB가 감소되었으며 열처리 중 조직의 firmness는 pB의 함량과 상관관계가 높았다(r=0.996). Cytorrhysis 실험결과 염절임 및 $60^{\circ}C$의 저온처리에서는 조직의 pore size가 더 작아졌고 $80^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온 열처리에 의하여 조직의 pore size가 커졌는데 이는 저온에서 pB의 증가에 의해 조직이 더 치밀해지고 고온 열처리에서는 가열분해된 pB가 용출되면서 조직이 더 엉성해졌기 때문인 것으로 판단되었다.

과일 및 채소의 응력완화 직선화 모델 (A Linearization Model of the Stress Relaxation Curves for Fruits and Vegetables)

  • 식물조직의 응력완화 측정 중에 압축응력에 의하여 조직의 내부구조가 변화되는 것을 고려하여 응력완화 곡선을 직선화할 수 있는 일반화 된 실험적 모델 $[F_{(o)}t^n/(F_{(o)}-F_{(t)})=k_1+k_2t]$을 제안하였다. 여기서 $F_{(o)}$는 초기응력, $F_{(t)}$는 t시간 후의 잔여응력, $k_1$, $k_2$와 n은 상수이다. 이 모델은 오이, 감, 사과, 감자, 고구마, 당근 등의 신선한 과일 및 채소류의 응력완화 곡선의 직선화 모델로서 매우 잘 적용되었을 뿐만 아니라 염절임, 당장 및 열처리한 채소류 조직에도 잘 적용되었다. 이 모델로부터 구조거동지수로 정의한 n값은 생시료인 경우 $1.14{\sim}l.35$ 범위로 응력완화 동안에 조직변동이 큰 시료일수록 큰 값을 나타내었고 처리된 시료일 경우 1에 가까워졌다.

태백산분지 (백운산 향사대) 장성지역에 분포하는 하부페름기 장성층의 고지온 (Paleotemperatire of the Lower Permian Jangseong Formation, jangseong Area, Taebaegsan Basin (Baegunsan Synclin))

  • The lower Permian jungseong Formation, Taebaegsan basin (Baegunsan Syncline), represents a coal-bearing siliciclastic succession which was later modified by the Songrim or Dabo orogeny. Sandstone perography and clay mineralogy were studied to understand the thermal history of the Jangseong Formation during basin evolution. Petrographic study indicates the Jangseong sandstones are composed of quartz, feldspar, lithic fragments (metamorphic and sedimetary), and varying proportions of matrix and cement. The dominance of quartz(<97%) over feldspar (<1%) and lithic fragments (<2%) classifies most Jangseong sandstones as quartz arenotes or quartzwackes, but lithic graywackes and sublithic arenite locally occur. The diagentic features of these sandstones include mechanical compaction, cemenation by quartz and clay minerals indentified in the Jangseong Formation by X-ray diffraction analysis are late-stage clay pore-filling. Clay minerals isdentified in the Jangseong Formation by X-ray diffaction analysis are illite, kaolinte, and pyrophyllite with a minor amount of chlorite and micas. The illite, kaolinite, and pyrophyllite appear to be largely autjigenic based on their well-crystallinity forms. There authigenic clay minerals form clay minerals form clay coats/rims and late-stage pore-filling cements, Illitecrystallinity shows that the Jangseong formation has been in late-diagenetic zone to early-epizone, which ranges in temperature from $200^{\circ}C$ to $300^{\circ}C$. In assition, kaolinite-pyrophyllite transition suggests that paleotemperature of the formation has reached at least $265^{\circ}C$. Such temperatureis likely to be consistent with homogenixation temperatures of fluid inclusions in quartz veins in the formation. Thus, the Jangseong Formation has been subjected to paleotemperature of about $265^{\circ}C$. The major heat source responsible for paleotemperature may be hydrothermal solutions. The passage of hydrothermal solutions was probably assisted by fractures created during the basin-modifying tectonism of the taebaegsan basin.
