  • In this study, unsteady aerodynamic analyses of a wedge-type airfoil based on nonlinear piston theory and Euler equations have been performed in supersonic and hypersonic flows. The third-order nonlinear piston theory (NPT) to calculate unsteady lift and moment coefficients is derived and applied in the time-domain. Also, unsteady flow quantities are obtained from the two-dimensional time-dependent Euler equations. For the CFD based unsteady aerodynamic analyses, an arbitrary Lagrangean-Eulerian (ALE) formulation for the Euler equations is used to calculate flow fluxes in the computational flow field with moving boundaries. Numerical comparisons for unsteady lift and moment coefficients are presented between NPT and Euler approaches. The results show very good agreements in the high supersonic and hypersonic flows. It means that the present NPT can be efficiently used to predict unsteady aerodynamic forces ol wedge type airfoils with dynamic motions in the high supersonic and hypersonic flow regimes.

  • In this study the unsteady aerodynamic analysis of a hovering helicopter rotor is performed. For the accurate flow field analysis Euler equations and the free wake method are coupled. The Euler equations are solved to find the pressure distribution around the rotor, and free wake method is used to give the boundary condition for the solution of Euler equations. Also, vortex strength and wake motion after the rotor are simulated by the free wake method. The accuracy of the present method is compared with the source sink model. The present method is applied to the hovering Caradonna-Tung rotor and compared with experimental results.

  • Mathematical analysis is made on a mesh free method for the compressible Euler equations. In particular, the Moving Least Square Reproducing Kernel (MLSRK) method is employed for space approximation. With the backward-Euler method used for time discretization, existence of discrete solution and it's $L^2-error$ estimate are obtained under a regularity assumption of the continuous solution. The result of numerical experiment made on the biconvex airfoil is presented.

  • In this paper we discussed Euler-Maruyama method for stochastic differential equations with jump diffusion. We give a convergence result for Euler-Maruyama where the coefficients of the stochastic differential equation are locally Lipschitz and the pth moments of the exact and numerical solution are bounded for some p > 2.

  • We derive a family of non-linear differential equations from the generating functions of the Euler polynomials and study the solutions of these differential equations. Then we give some new and interesting identities and formulas for the Euler polynomials of higher order by using our non-linear differential equations.

  • A comparative study on flux functions for the 2-dimensional Euler equations has been conducted. Explicit 4-stage Runge-Kutta method is used to integrate the equations. Flux functions used in the study are Steger-Warming's, van Leer's, Godunov's, Osher's(physical order and natural order), Roe's, HLLE, AUSM, AUSM+, AUSMPW+ and M-AUSMPW+. The performance of MUSCL limiters and MLP limiters in conjunction with flux functions are compared extensively for steady and unsteady problems.

  • In this paper, it is dealt with the dynamic motion equations for a robot arm. Four kinds of the dynamic equations which are the Lagrange-Euler equations, the Recursive L-E equations, the Newton-Euler equations and the improved N-E equation are derived on robot PUMA 600. Finally the algorithms on these equations are programmed using PASCAL. and are compared with each other. As the results, it is found that the improved N-E equations has the most fastest execution time among the equations and can be used in real time processing.
