Structural Design of Basement Exterior Wall using Modification Factor (보정계수를 이용한 지하외벽의 구조설계)

  • Currently structural design of basement exterior wall is based on the assumption of boundary condition of plate, which may lead to erroneous results. In this study, the behavior of basement exterior wall subject to earth pressure and hydraulic pressure is investigated using linear finite element analysis. Parametric studies are conducted to investigate the variation of moment and shear force according to column-to-wall stiffness and aspect ratios. Using these numerical results, modification factors applicable to the design of basement exterior wall are presented. Design example is illustrated, showing satisfactory results.

  • It is difficult to estimate for deterioration of exterior wall by infrared thermography, because of amount of infrared-ray radiation effected by environmental factors such as temperature properties of materials, the outside air and the amount of solar radiation. Therefore we measured the distribution of temperature by times in the same reinforced-concrete structure in order to reduce problems, occasioned by environmental factors, then we analyzed physical influence factors of the infrared thermography. It is the aim of this study to suggest basic data with regard to method of estimation-system for deterioration of exterior wall in reinforced-concrete structures.

  • Energy load of building affected by insulation performance of building's exterior. and insulation system can be classify interior insulation, exterior insulation, sandwich insulation according to install place of insulation. but within interior insulation system, corner wall and the cross outer wall-slab insulation part may occur thermal bridges. And then, within exterior insulation system is more superior insulation performance than interior insulation, but it has difficult to apply, easily broken at high building because of strong wind load. And also difficult to maintenance exterior insulation system. So, in this study, to found requirement performance of cast-in-place sandwich insulation system that is superior insulation performance and easy construction and maintenance. requirement performance of cast-in-place sandwich insulation system is 1) To avoid thermal bridges in the insulation performance, 2) Both sides concrete wall can be composite action in the structural performance. Because of this study, can develops cast-in-place sandwich insulation system and this insulation system contribute to improve insulation performance of apartment-house and high building.

  • Recently increasing high-rise building cleaning on the exterior walls of high-rise buildings, there has been increased interest. Building exterior cleaning is cleaned by a cleaning robot and how to clean the exterior walls of the building and exterior glass cleaned by personnel. Number of stories in the building increases, being carried out by personnel cleaning the outer wall as there is a limit order to overcome this method. therefor, this study is a new exterior wall cleaning device has been proposed.

  • Most of the building exterior wall cleaning robots use a water jet device for spraying water. However this method is sprayed excessive water usage than water quantity required for cleaning. And setting weight of the water pump cleaning device increase the weight of the building exterior wall cleaning robot. Therefor, this paper suggest that the mechanisms scatter minimal cleaning water using a spinning device of the building exterior wall cleaning robot.

  • With recent growth of the economy and development of construction technology, the increase of high-rise buildings is appearing rapidly in urban areas. For this reason, the interest in building maintenance has also been increasing. However, it has many safety problems because it is difficult for the workers to access the exterior wall of building. Therefore, the maintenance system of high-rise building stands out as being important issues to be developed, so that a variety of robot systems have been developed to accomplish the building-wall maintenance works. In this paper, the maintenance robots are classified in painting, inspecting, cleaning systems according to the maintenance works. Then, their locomotion and adhesion mechanisms are analyzed including their applicability to the real maintenance works. This study can be used to develop maintenance robotic system that is more efficient and stable than existing ones.

  • Recently, the number of high-rise buildings has been on the rise, which has meant that maintenance cost has increased by two and three times, along with the increase in the construction cost. It is suggested that the use of an auto-cleaning robot could increase the productivity and safety of cleaning work, which is mostly done outside of a building. In particular, the guide rail on a high-rise building could be useful in this capacity, as it has the advantage of not being significantly influenced by factors of the external environment, including wind pressure. For this reason, this research is preliminary research into a cleaning automation for a high-rise building, and aims to draw up a scenario for the vertically moving robot.

  • It is necessary to the development of the best maintenance system for applying the long-term maintenance plan using the cost breakdown structure in the educational facilities. This study developed the cost breakdown structure for the best maintenance system using the delphi method. For the convenience of maintenance, the maintenance cost breakdown structures are separated into building exterior wall, building inside wall, electric installation, heating installation and outdoor facilities. And these results atomized in each parts. And this study constructed the cost breakdown structure to maintenance's practicality and effectiveness through the expert analysis.

A Field Investigation of Defect Type for Development of Maintenance Manual of Han-ok (한옥 유지관리매뉴얼 개발을 위한 결함 유형 현장 조사)

  • To collection of field data for development of maintenance manual of Han-ok, we investigated defects which occurred in members of Han-ok by field investigation. The noticeable defects were wood cracks, gaps that developed between wood pillar and wall or wood window frame and tenon joints. The most common biological defect was blue stain which was created in log. The mold generation was observed on exterior wood and wall which get wet by precipitation. The gaps between members of Han-ok pointed out as defect that is urgently improved by residents of Han-ok. The reason is mainly due to poor of insulation in winter by bad confidentiality. The maintenance work of defect such as gap was conducted personally. As a result, the repair parts were ugly for unfamiliar repair work.
