Many engineering schools in Korea implement ABEEK programs. One of the core parts of ABEEK is accreditation criterion 2, the program outcomes and their appraisal. This paper tries to discuss the program outcomes and to study the impact of applying the program outcomes to one of the graduation requirements. We show simple survey results for implementing ABEEK programs concerning the program outcomes and their relation to graduation requirements. If the program outcomes are used as one of the graduation requirements, some graduates may satisfy the average grade point for graduation requirements but can not meet the program outcome criteria satisfied by other than regular classes. In this case, the graduate may have trouble to try to meet the program outcome criteria, since he may not be able to stay in school without taking classes. The problems of setting the levels of program outcomes as graduation requirements, non classwork related program outcomes, and work burden to professors should be also prudently reviewed for successful ABEEK implementation.

Each year research institutions such as the Korea Employment Information Service(KEIS), a government institution established for the advancement of employment support services, and Job Korea, a popular Korean job website, announce first job waiting times after college graduation. This provides useful information understand and resolve youth unemployment problems. However, previous reports deal with the time as a completely observed one and are not appropriate. This paper proposes a new study on first job waiting times after college graduation set to 4 months prior to graduation. In Korea, most college students hunt for jobs before college graduation in addition, the full-fledged job markets also open before graduation. In this case the exact waiting time of college graduates can be right-censored. We apply a Cox proportional hazards model to evaluate the associations between first job waiting times and risk factors. A real example is based on the 2008 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey(GOMS).

This study was made to assess the possibility of predicting the nurses efficiency after graduation in college through their entrance examination and general attitude test results and their academic records. It was observed that generally nurses with the highest academic records were the most efficient in their work after graduation while those with high general aptitude test results came next although their college entrance examination results were comparatively low. Therefore it could be deduced from this study that college entrance examination results alone could not be depended upon in predicting the nurse's working efficiency after bet graduation.

This study is to analyse whether the senior students' experience of graduation exhibitions would be of any practical use when they are employed by fashion industry. To address this theme, a survey is carried out for 73 fashion designers who participated into the exhibitions. Survey results show the graduation exhibitions are worth Not because skills learned from the experiences are applicable to the industrial practice, but because they provide them self-confidence of finishing four year programs successfully. They responded that graduation exhibitions are most effecive when they requires to utilize knowledges and skills acquired from all across the major subjects.

Competencies are defined as an observable and assessable set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Graduation competencies, which are more comprehensive, refer to the required abilities of students to perform on-site work immediately after graduation. As graduation competencies set the goal of education, various countries and institutions have introduced them for new veterinary graduates. The Korean Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges has recently established such competencies to standardize veterinary education and enhance quality levels thereof. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of establishing graduation competencies as well as their implication for veterinary education in Korea. Graduation competencies for veterinary education in Korea comprise 5 domains (animal health care and disease management, one health expertise, communication and collaboration, research and learning, and veterinary professionalism). These are further divided into 11 core competencies, and 33 achievement standards, which were carefully chosen from previous case analyses and nation-wide surveys. Currently, graduation competencies are used as a standard for setting clear educational purposes for both instructors and students. Establishing these competencies further initiated the development of detailed learning outcomes, and of a list of basic veterinary clinical performances and skills, which is useful for assessing knowledge and skills. The establishment of graduation competencies is expected to contribute to the continuous development of Korean veterinary education in many ways. These include curriculum standardization and licensing examination reform, which will eventually improve the competencies of new veterinary graduates.

This study was to evaluate the suitability of scientific questions as qualification examination for high school graduation by content validity and item response with three examinees and two preliminary examinees. As a result, scientific questions were concentrated on two units of six units of total, and application appeared to be lacking problem area by 8% compared to understanding and application. Examinees and preliminary examinees chose correct answers most by hap or guess, sometimes by experience or common sense, and the least by scientific concept. In addition, they could chose correct answers by hap or guess because there were words that implied the correct answer in questions and answers, or because they could compared and/or analyzed questions and answers. With these results, two proposals were suggested as follows; (1) scientific questions of qualification examination for high school graduation should measure basic scientific literacy. (2) specific criteria for science literacy in qualification examination for high school graduation should be set.

코로나바이러스 대유행으로 가속화된 온라인 전시의 보급은 그동안 오프라인 전시에서 다루지 않던 가능성과 논점을 제시한다. 디자인전공생들의 졸업 전시는 기능적, 심미적 탐구가 왕성하게 실천되는 장으로서 자급형 온라인 전시의 현재를 이해하고 가능성을 모색하는 대상으로 삼을만하다. 이 연구는 2020년 온라인으로 졸업전시를 개최한 국내 시각디자인 전공의 웹 사이트 15곳을 분석하여 대학별 전시의 특징을 분석한다. 도착-검색-감상-소통의 단계로 구분하여 평가하고 시사점을 제시한다. 1) 웹 사이트 구조를 이용한 전시 정체성 수립, 2) 작품과 참가자 검색 경로의 다각화, 3) 상세 페이지의 자유도와 다양성 보장, 4) 관객 소통을 유도하고 개인화할 수 있는 기능 개발이다.

대학교육 경쟁력과 혁신 요구가 높아지면서 대학의 특성을 고려한 유연한 교육체제가 필요하게 되었다. 특히 공학계열 중심인 K대학의 경우 기술변화에 능동적으로 대응하고 실제적인 문제를 해결할 수 있는 창의적 엔지니어를 양성하기 위해 졸업설계 교과목의 교육목적, 내용, 평가, 운영방식을 획기적으로 개선하는 졸업설계 집중학기제를 도입하였다. K대학의 졸업설계 집중학기제는 2018년 1학기 2개 전공에서 시범 운영 후 2019년 1학기 3개 전공에서 4학년 1학기 재학생을 대상으로 운영하였다. 참여 교수자와 학생을 대상으로 졸업설계 집중학기제 실태 및 효과성 인식조사를 실시한 결과, 기존과 대비하여 교수자의 지도 시간이 향상되었고 졸업작품의 질 향상, 학생의 역량 함양 등 졸업설계 집중학기제를 도입하고자 하였던 목적에 비추어 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구는 K 대학교에 재학 중인 학생 57명의 부모를 대상으로 자녀의 조기진급 및 조기졸업의 필요성과 대학생활 적응에 대한 부모지각을 다변량 분산분석(Multivariate Analysis of Variance)과 다변량 공분산분석(Multivariate Analysis of Covariance)을 실시하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 조기진급 및 조기졸업을 한 자녀를 룬 부모는 고등학교 3년 과정을 마치고 대학에 입학한 자녀를 둔 부모보다 '조기진급에 대한 정보'를 더 만이 알고 있었던 것으로 나타났다. 이에, 본 연구는 '조기진급에 대한 정보'를 공변량으로 통제한 후, 자녀의 적응에 대한 부모지각을 조사하였다. 그 결과, '조기 진급에 대한 정보'를 많이 가지고 있었던 부모는 자녀가 대학에 보다 잘 적응한다고 지각하였다. 그러나 '조기진급에 대한 정보'가 자녀의 적응에 대한 부모지각에 미치는 영향을 통제하였을 때, 조기진급 및 조기졸업 유무에 따른 부모지각에서 유의한 차이가 없었다. 따라서 조기진급 및 조기졸업에 대한 정보를 많이 가지고 있는 부모 일수록 이에 대한 필요성을 보다 신중하게 고려하며 의사결정에 임할 뿐 아니라, 대학에 입학한 자녀의 진로 및 학습 적응 그리고 대학 생활에서 자녀가 경험하는 사회정서적 적응에 대해서도 비교적 덜 우려하는 것으로 나타났다.
