This paper analyses the theories and practices of the integrated management of records and archives in china which means that records and archives management departments should be interrelated each other with organic association and their records and archives be managed in an integrated manner. In 1930s chinese nationalist regime had conducted a campaign for reforming documents and archives management system to increase administrative efficiency called "The Connection of Documents and Archives Management Act(文書檔案連鎖法)". Although this campaign has not been continued to the present, It has been proved to be a quite successful attempt at that time in china and also regarded as an origin of the integrated management of records and archives in china. The practical types of the integrated management of records and archives as follows: first is to establish institutional documents/archives department in charge of managing records and archives in an integrative manner; second, to reform filing system, that is, to file on a case basis or abolish filing system and arrange records on an item level instead; third, to install software application for the integrated management of records and archives in order to make arranging operations convenient by increasing data processing efficiency. The chinese case shows us that the integrated management of records and archives could not be realized until records and archives departments make united efforts to build up a new national records and archives management system based on advanced and scientific principles.

The study aims to investigate research trends in the UK records management field and compare the results with domestic research by analyzing research articles published in Archives and Records for the UK's research trends and The Korean Journal of Archival Studies (KJAS) for domestic ones. The study analyzed 318 articles published in KJAS and 142 articles published in Archives and Records since 2013, when the journal changed its title from Journal of the Society of Archivists, to investigate the distribution of authors, including the ratio of coauthorship and authors' affiliations. A set of 1,251 unique terms were extracted from KJAS, and 508 unique terms were extracted from Archives and Records for keyword co-occurrence network analyses. The result shows that the main research topics for KJAS include studies on (1) records management in general, such as archives, records, records management, and archival information service, (2) public records management, (3) personal or private records management, and (4) the techniques for records management, such as archival appraisal, selection, and disposition. In Archives and Records, (1) there are several case studies related to community and local archives, and (2) studies related to records management techniques, such as records description, appraisal, access, preservation, and service, have been performed continuously; furthermore, (3) studies on the digitization of oral history and audiovisual records are also one of the most researched areas.

In 1999, "Records management of public instituition Act" was enacted. Since then, records management system has been developed, but the level of records management is still low in reality. This article is to present suggestions in policy of national records management. To flourish national records management, 'governance' should be performed during policy propulsion and National Archives of Korea should be politically neutral and independent. In addition, records management system needs to be wide-spread, many different archives should be established, also archives should have archivists. Not only that, managers of archives need to cooperate and thrive with autonomy, decentralization of authority, and solidarity.

The National Assembly Archives of the Republic of Korea has been using the National Assembly Archives and Records Management System, which added some archival function to the Standard Records Management System that they had previously developed. However, the Standard Records Management System has limits in order to reflect all the business functions of the National Assembly Archives, which also acts as an archival institution, because the system had been developed and distributed to perform the function of a records center. Moreover, the current National Assembly Archives and Records Management System focuses on the management of official records transferred in accordance with the regulations. For this reason, it is difficult to register and manage various record types such as records of the members of the National Assembly (related to legislative activities), oral history collected from the National Assembly leader, audiovisual records of proceedings, and so on. As such, this study analyzed the problems of the current National Assembly Archives and Records Management System and conducted case studies of the systems in the National Archives, the Presidential Archives, Changwon City, and the Cultural Heritage Administration. Through this research, it proposed that system functions, metadata, the target system of the National Assembly Archives, and the Records Integrated Management System need a development plan.

This study is intended to examine the existing condition of records and archives management and seek its improvement and progress on a concrete model of Daejon Diocese as a kind of case study, because it is necessary to recognize the importance of records and archives management and to develop the records and archives management system. Daejon Diocese which has the catholic jurisdiction covering the areas of Daejon city and Chung Cheong Nam - Do province, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the diocese in 1998. At that, time, the authority of Daejon Diocese claimed to establish its church history institution and to plan the publication of "40 years history of Daejon Diocese". However, its publication could not be achieved until now for several reasons. Since my search for the cause of this situation, I immediately recognized that the lack of materials might be a common condition in almost all of the associations, especially with respect to management, preservation and access of the records and archives. The records in the archival repository of Daejon Diocese have been considerably lost because of the past intemperate destruction and these records have just piled for long time without any reasonable disposal programme. Therefore, in these poor conditions, it is inevitable to delay the publication of "40 years history of Daejon Diocese." This thesis deals with the archival arrangement and the ways of improvement by means of studying the records and archives management, as the essential issues. The archival arrangement based on the principle of provenance, the date of creation, and form division. The methods of improvement include the preservation environment, the scope of archives, archival staff, disposal and so on. Records have the legal and social value after being produced and they can remain as historical and cultural inheritances under the excellent condition of management and preservation. However, in examining the case of the management and preservation of records and archives in Daejon Diocese, I understand that it will need considerable time, man power, and financial cost in order to maintain the desirable level of records and archives management system Therefore, it is a important step for Catholic Daejon to recognize the necessity of the change over records and archives management.

Archives and Records Management Studies is being developed its own independent domains. However, the existing library classification scheme such as the KDC don't properly reflect the characteristics of Archives and Records Management Studies. This classification scheme has the irrational part of the arrangement of the subject items and should be required to rearrange subdivision of the subject areas. In this study, According to the characteristics of Archives and Records Management Studies, It is set up 8 subject areas, Records Management (General), the law and polices of records management, the collection and appraisal of the records, the documentary organization, recording information services, preservation of the records, archives management, archives and records center, etc. After analyzing the major contemporary library classification system such as KDC, DDC, NDC, UDC, LCC, then It is suggested that improvement measures through analyzing classification status and keywords of the Archives and Records Management data contained in Korean National Bibliography. In Archives and records management studies, The contents of the eight subject areas related to the field are changed to allow integration with KDC 028.

This study proposed a metadata schema for integrated management of festival archives and records produced individually. To achieve the goals, this study reviewed related literature, studied comparison analysis of international standards in Korea, Australia, and England, as well as interviews with festival staffs. With the results of investigation that compared the standardizations related to metadata and analysis of features in festival archives and records, this study proposed a metadata schema to describe various features on festival archives and records. The expectation of this study is that the festival archives and records, which are created in various organizations related to festivals, can be managed effectively. Also, the proposed schema can be used for the establishment of a systematic management for various types of festival archives and records.

This study analyses the policy for archives and records management in Korea into methods in the field of policy science. As a result, various problems have been examined in relation to carrying out the laws and regulations of archives and records management of all public agencies in Korea. Based upon various analyses of these problems, this study derives some effective strategies on the development in the policy taken the view of establishing the appropriateness between goals and measures of me policy, promoting mutual relationship among participants of the policy, putting in order the system for archives and records management, and improving circumstances of the policy for archives and records management in Korea.

This paper illustrates preliminary modeling for University Archives Management System(UAMS) construction. University must install Intermediate Archives(records and archives) facilities and management system by Public Records and Archives Act(PRA). But it is very difficult to generalize UAMS because University co-exists public and its own characteristic. For UAMS modeling, this paper first identifies University document's production creators and documental boundary. Then it is studied how University archives management is operated and what archives system by PRA means in University. Second systematic connection plan of Intermediate Archives(records and archives) facilities and manuscripts management is surveyed through National Universities and complementary things are presented. Finally through the above study UAMS model is suggested as future-oriented University archives management. UAMS model suggested from this study includes as follows. First manuscripts management as present Records and Archives system's standard function extension. Second manuscripts management system as system management area's extension using in Universities. It is desirable to extend to expert archives system. Finally integrated operating system model for using actively records, archives and manuscripts management systems operating in Universities.

This research presents research trends of records and archives management in korea and future development plan by analyzing the distribution of the thesis of the records and archives management journals in Korea according to subjects, issue periods, journals and researchers. The summary of the research is as follows. First, the core subjects of records and archives management research in Korea have been identified as law, establishment/policy, preservation and electronic records management, and it has been identified that the subject fields have come diverse thanks to the establishment of Public Records Management Act. Second, it has been proved that the productivity of research thesis of records and archives management in Korea increases as time goes by, and, especially, it improved by a big margin during 1997-2001. Third, the subjects of records and archives management are generally comprehensive, although there are differences in the subject fields among the thesis that have been researched.
