  • Spin reticle infrared seekers have good linearity, and the pulse-modulated reticle seekers have good digital characteristics for anti-jamming processing. A basic design for a spin pulse-modulated reticle is introduced. This design uses the rotating design of the optical system in the spin infrared seekers and an improved design of the reticle in the pulse-modulated seekers. The reticle contains a unique well-designed slit to produce one pulse for each target in the spinning period. The target data will be carried by the unique pulse parameters. A simulation tool is implemented using the MATLAB packages for analyzing and evaluating the new design.

  • A novel imaging method in which time-division spinning reticle samples different pixel location of input image in different time is presented. The lens collects the beam passing throughthe reticle to a photodetector. Image reconstruction is accomplished by sampling the detector output corresponding to the spinning speed of reticle. Since the time-division reticle system removed the necessity of bandpass filter bank which has sharp cut-off characteristic, high resolution image is obtained without increasing the number of filter. To confirm the validity of this method, a computer simulation and an optical experiment using visual light are presented.

  • This paper presents a design of the reticle stage for lithography using VCM(Voice Coil Motor) and kinematic analysis. The stage has three axes for X,Y,${\theta}_z$, those actuated by three VCM's individually. The reticle stage has cross coupled relations between X,Y,${\theta}_z$ axes, and the closed solution of the forward/inverse kinematics were solved to get an accurate reference position. The reticle stage for lithography was designed for reaching both high accuracy and long stroke, which was $0.1{\mu}m$ (X,Y)/ $1{\mu}rad({\theta}_z)$ accuracies and relatively long strokes about 2mm (X,Y) and 2 degrees(${\theta}_z$). Also this research presents a rotational compensation algorithm for the precision gap sensor for the stage. Simulation results show the overall performance of the whole algorithm and the improvement quantity of the rotational compensation algorithm.

  • This paper presents a dynamic simulation loop that gives tracking results of 2-color concentric annular ring (CAR) reticle seeker. Our simulation tool includes the target/flare model and a proportional navigation guidance (PNG) loop. The CAR reticle system performances and the flare effects are analyzed in various scenarios. When a flare is present in the field of view (FOV), the simulation results show that the reticle seeker cannot keep a precise target tracking. In this paper, we propose 2-color counter-countermeasure (CCM) using the least mean square (LMS) method to cope with a presence of IR flare. The proposed method makes a simultaneous process in two infrared (IR) wavelength bands: MWIR add SWIR. The simulation results have shown that our adaptive IRCCM algorithm can achieve an effective cancellation of the flare signal with a relatively high intensity.

  • This paper presents a new design of the precision stage for the reticle in lithography process and a low hunting control method for the stage. The stage has three axes for X, Y, ${\theta}_z$ those actuated by three voice coil motors individually. The designed reticle stage system has three gap sensors and voice coil motors, and supported by four air bearings and the forward/inverse kinematics of the stage were solved to get an accurate reference position. When a stage is in regulating control mode, there always exist small fluctuations(stage hunting) in the stage movement. Because the low stage hunting characteristic is very important in recent lithography and nano-level applications, a special regulating controller for ultra low hunting is proposed in this paper. Also this research proposed the 2-step transmission system for preventing the noise infection from environmental devices. The experimental results showed the proposed regulating control system reduced hunting noise as 35nm(rms) when a conventional PID generates 77nm(rms) in the same mechanical system. Besides the reticle stage has 100nm linear accuracy and $1{\mu}rad$ rotation accuracy at the control frequency of 8kHz.

  • The existing modeling of infrared reticle seekers is perfored in a static sitic situation. Inthis paper, we develop the dynamic simulator of the reticle seekers and propose an efficient signal processing algorithm in multiple targets, especially flares. the developed simuator is essential to analyze the performance of the infrared reticle seekers in various conditions and study effective signal procesing techniques. Simulations show that the proposed counter-countermeasure algorithm is simple and efficient.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new detection method of pH image to effectively measure a 2-dimensional pH distribution of test materials by irradiating an frequency modulated light to LAPS using a reticle. It could measure simultaneously signals in one line by applying a modulated light having difference frequency for each pixel using a frequency modulating reticle, and calculating an amplitude with respect to a frequency component by the light source. To experiment the proposed method, we designed and implemented a reticle considering of a LAPS's characteristic, and reconstructed an image by frequency analysis using the implemented reticle and test pattern image. As a result, we verified that the proposed method using the reticle was able to detect 30 times faster for a $30{\times}30$ pixels pH image having a PSNR of 22-24 [dB] than conventional method.

  • The previous simulation models of infra-red (IR) reticle seekers were performed in a static situation. However, in this paper, we develop a new simulation tool which is applicable in various cases, and propose an efficient counter-countermeasure (CCM) in the presence of countermeasures (CM) such as flares. The developed tool analyzes performance of rotating Lovell reticle seeker, and gives tracking performances in various scenarios. The simulation results show that our counter-countermeasure algorithm makes an efficient target tracking in the presence of flares.

  • Reticle systems, which are widely used in infrared (IR) missile seekers, are considered to be the classical approach for estimating the position of a target in the field of view (FOV). This paper presents an effective simulation tool that gives tracking results of the concentric annular ring reticle seeker. We construct the concentric annular ring reticle seeker on Matlab-Simulink for a dynamic simulation. Our simulation model provides tracking results in various cases, and is applicable to the study of the development of the advanced seekers. While false targets such as flares are presented in the FOV, simulation results show that the existing seeker cannot determine a precise target location. In order to decrease the susceptibility to countermeasures such as flares, we propose an efficient counter-countermeasure using the correlated relationship of modulated signals and the references. We have ascertained that the reticle seeker using our technique make more effective target tracking than previous seekers.

  • The function of DIRCM(Directed Infrared Countermeasures) jamming is to cause the missile to miss its intended target by disturbing the seeker tracking process. The DIRCM jamming uses the pulsing flashes of IR energy and its frequency, phase and intensity have influence on the missile guidance system. In this paper, we analysis the DIRCM jamming effect of spin-scan reticle seeker. Simulation results show that the jamming effect is greatly influenced by frequency, phase and intensity of the jammer signal.
