The purpose of this study is to present a case of the development and application of a one-time special lecture program that requires the use of computers in frontline elementary and secondary schools. For this purpose, the researcher developed an Arduino-based special lecture program that works as a teaching tool to help with the functions of a student PC with a Raspberry Pi. This special lecture program was applied at three elementary and middle schools near K-University, and then the program was evaluated. The results of this study are as follows. First, the researcher developed a teaching aid for PC functions to be used in special lectures. Second, teaching and learning materials for visiting special lecture education programs using Arduino were developed. Third, in the special lecture, a teaching-learning method was used to guide a small number of students individually. Fourth, the special lecture program resulted in high satisfaction. The results of this study can be a useful reference for teachers who plan one-time special lecture programs requiring computers or for those who want to apply physical computing-related devices in an educational field.

The purpose of this study was to provide basic information on the development of nutrition education programs to improve the mealtime behavior of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by investigating the mealtime behavior and food preferences of children with ASD through the perception of special education teachers. Surveys were given to 108 special education teachers in special education schools in Korea regarding the demographic characteristics, nutrition education support needs, mealtime behavior, and food preferences of children with ASD. Most of the special education teachers responded that nutrition education in special schools had not been conducted properly and nutrition education for ASD children is necessary. Mealtime behavior analysis classified the behavior into three clusters: cluster 1, 'less problematic mealtime behavior'; cluster 2, 'general feature of autism'; cluster 3, 'difficulty in self-directed diet'. The age, eating habits, and food preferences were different according to each mealtime behavior cluster. We conducted a survey methodology to study current state of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) application for teachers in special education. The analysis of 103 sample data shows the media type and usage frequency, the reason of ICT application, the awareness of ICT training program necessity and the detail training program. We divided two groups by work experience in education based on time when ICT curriculum adapted in special education department. The several differences of ICT usage and skill levels in managing ICT of two groups are statistically significant.
In this note we propose a 10 hour-program for gifted students. A special feature of this program is to utilize the computer for the topics on cryptography. During the program the students are required to read some books. It is possible for some parts of the program may not be attractive to the students who are not interested in computers.
