  • Recent years, the response characteristics of large space structures have been studied. Then, for the large space structures with large rise-span ratio, it is clarified that the anti-symmetric mode are representatively amplified. That means the static seismic load for general ramen structure is not suitable for the space structure. In this paper, we propose static seismic loads for space structures and its concept. And for the space structures of beam string structures, execute the time history analysis and quasi static analysis and compare the results of them. From the results, we can prove the validity of static seismic load for space structure.

  • This study was conducted to provide fundamental data for design of air inflating apparatus of air-inflated double-layer plastic greenhouse. The variation of static pressure in air tube for different fans and filters, filtering performance for various kinds of filters and destruction phase of experimental greenhouse collapsed by excessive static pressure in air space were analyzed. The general type of forward centrifugal fan was recommended for inflating air space in air-inflated double-layer plastic greenhouse. The experimental greenhouse was collapsed down by excessive static pressure just like fallen by heavy snow load acting on it. The static pressure in air tube without filter decreased linearly as the number of outlet openings increased. But the pressure in air tube with filter declined quadratically, the decremental ratio diminished by the increase of outlet openings. The higher filtering efficiency and the greater decrements of static pressure in air tube, the larger capacity fan was required for maintaining proper static pressure in air space. Because the porosities of filter were blocked by dust as time goes by, the static pressure in air tube with filter decreased. The higher filtering efficiency, the less decremental ratio of static pressure in air tube as time passes by. Considering the filtering efficiency, decrement of static pressure and thickness of filter, the 5mm thickness filter of 75% efficiency was recommended for air inflating filter of air-inflated double-layer plastic greenhouse.

  • In this article we make a local classification of n-dimensional Riemannian manifolds (M, g) with harmonic curvature and less than four Ricci eigenvalues which admit a smooth non constant solution f to the following equation $$(1)\hspace{20}{\nabla}df=f(r-{\frac{R}{n-1}}g)+x{\cdot} r+y(R)g,$$ where ∇ is the Levi-Civita connection of g, r is the Ricci tensor of g, x is a constant and y(R) a function of the scalar curvature R. Indeed, we showed that, in a neighborhood V of each point in some open dense subset of M, either (i) or (ii) below holds; (i) (V, g, f + x) is a static space and isometric to a domain in the Riemannian product of an Einstein manifold N and a static space (W, gW, f + x), where gW is a warped product metric of an interval and an Einstein manifold. (ii) (V, g) is isometric to a domain in the warped product of an interval and an Einstein manifold. For the proof we use eigenvalue analysis based on the Codazzi tensor properties of the Ricci tensor.

  • This paper presents the static characteristics of a urea-SCR system. The static characterization of the urea-SCR system was generated by sweeping urea flow rates at common engine torque/speed operating points. Several experiments were performed using engine operating points at different raw NOx emission levels, space velocities, and SCR catalyst temperatures. The recorded NOx emissions from the engine exhaust outlet and engine tailpipe are then compared. The urea-SCR static system results indicated that a $50{\sim}60%$ NOx conversion is achievable at most engine operating points using the stoichiometric $NH_3/NOx$ ratio, and a high 98% NOx conversion is possible by exceeding the stoichiometric $NH_3/NOx$ ratio. The effect of the pre-oxidation catalyst volume was also investigated and found to have a profound impact on experimental results, particularly the static NOx conversion.

  • This study was carried out to investigate blowing performance for blowing type in space heater. This paper present that power requirement, static pressure, total pressure and static pressure efficiency were increased in proportion to air flow rate. And in the Korean space heater, side ward blowing type was effected than downward blowing type.

  • The quasi-static and dynamic responses of a linear viscoelastic circular beam on Winkler foundation are studied numerically by using the mixed finite element method in transformed Laplace-Carson space. This element VCR12 has 12 independent variables. The solution is obtained in transformed space and Schapery, Dubner, Durbin and Maximum Degree of Precision (MDOP) transform techniques are employed for numerical inversion. The performance of the method is presented by several quasi-static and dynamic example problems.

  • It is presented in this paper that the static output feedback (SOF) pole-assignment problem of some linear time-invariant systems can be completely resolved by parametrization in real Grassmann space. For the real Grassmannian parametrization, the so-called Plucker matrix is utilized as a linear matrix formula formulated from the SOF variable's coefficients of a characteristic polynomial constrained in Grassmann space. It is found that the exact SOF pole assignability is determined by the linear independency of columns of Plucker sub-matrix and by full-rank of that sub-matrix. It is also presented that previous diverse pole-assignment methods and various computation algorithms of the real SOF gains for 2-input, 2-output, 4th order systems are unified in a deterministic way within this real Grassmannian parametrization method.

  • A general construction algorithm of the Grassmann space parameters in linear systems - so-called, the Plucker matrix, 'L' in m-input, p-output, n-th order static output feedback systems and the Plucker matrix, $'L^{aug}'$ in augmented (m+d)-input, (p+d)-output, (n+d)-th order static output feedback systems - is presented for numerical checking of necessary conditions of complete static and complete minimum d-th order dynamic output feedback pole-assignments, respectively, and also for discernment of deterministic computation condition of their pole-assignable real solutions. Through the construction of L, it is shown that certain generically pole-assignable strictly proper mp > n system is actually none pole-assignable over any (real and complex) output feedbacks, by intrinsic rank deficiency of some submatrix of L. And it is also concretely illustrated that this none pole-assignable mp > n system by static output feedback can be arbitrary pole-assignable system via minimum d-th order dynamic output feedback, which is constructed by deterministic computation under fullrank of some submatrix of $L^{aug}$.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the static and dynamic stability-of the unmanned airship under development ; the target airship's over-all length of hull is 50m and the maximum diameter is 12.5m. For the analysis, the dynamic model of an airship was defined and both the nonlinear and linear dynamic equations of motion were derived. Two different configuration models (KA002Y and KA003Y) of the airship were used for the target model of the static stability analysis and the dynamic stability analysis. From the result of analyses, though the airship is unstable in static stability, dynamic characteristics of the airship can provide the stable dynamic stability. All of the results, airship models and dynamic flight equations will be an important basement and basic information for the next step of developing the automatic flight control system(AFCS) and the stability augmentation system(SAS) for the unmanned airship as well as for the stratospheric airship in the future.
