Survey on the virtual commissioning of manufacturing systems

  • This paper reviews and identifies issues in the application of virtual commissioning technology for automated manufacturing systems. While the real commissioning of a manufacturing system involves a real plant system and a real controller, the virtual commissioning deals with a virtual plant model and a real controller. The expected benefits of virtual commissioning are the reduction of debugging and correction efforts during the subsequent real commissioning stage. However, it requires a virtual plant model and hence still requires significant amount time and efforts. Two main issues are identified, the physical model construction of a virtual device, and the logical model construction of a virtual device. This paper reviews the current literature related to the two issues and proposes future research directions to achieve the full utilization of virtual commissioning technology.

  • Model house play an important role in the sale of apartments. However, model house can create social and environmental problems. Virtual reality's (VR) use for the creation of model house has been studied as a possible counter measure to these problems. Existing models don't satisfy consumers' queries. A virtual model house can give the experience of seeing a real home through simulation. Also, a virtual model house can allow a home buyer to change the furniture on display or the color of the walls to reflect the consumer's taste in the construction. The internal present condition system using absorption style virtual reality and open style virtual reality are the indispensable tools that are going to take the place of the current model home. A virtual model house is more profitable than a physical model house because of reduced costs and time savings. In addition, a virtual model house can offer new kinds of information that a physical model home can not. This study's purpose is to discuss the desired direction of the virtual model house in this crucial and dynamic period of development.

인터넷 의류 판매 사이트의 가상피팅모델 구축을 위한 입력정보 종류와 결과 비교 (Study on input data for developing virtual fitting model at internet apparel shopping sites and comparison of the results)

  • 개인별 신체 특성을 나타내는 가상피팅모델을 이용하여 제공되는 가상 착용 서비스는 웹을 기반으로 한 인터넷 의류 쇼핑의 흥미를 더해준다. 본 연구의 연구자들은 2000년과 2002년에 개발된 미국의 가상피팅모델과 국내에서 개발되었던 가상피팅모델의 개발 기술의 특성과 변화를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 가상피팅모델의 구축을 위해서는 인체의 치수, 형태, 얼굴의 특징들에 관한 정보 입력이 필요하며, 이때 요구되는 정보는 미국과 한국의 사이트에서 차이가 있음을 밝혔다. 미국의 사이트는 정면이나 측면의 실루엣에 대한 정보의 입력이 요구되는 반면 한국의 사이트는 더 많은 인체 치수 관련 정보를 요구하였다. 2000년에 개발되었던 한국의 가상피팅모델은 길고 좁은 프로포션으로 표현되어 사실적인 표현이 부족하였던 반면 2002년 미국에서 개발한 가상피팅모델은 다양한 인종의 특성을 반영하며, 그래픽 기술의 발전으로 사실적으로 표현된 가상피팅모델을 제공하는 것으로 나타났다.

Virtual Prototyping Simulation for a Passenger Vehicle

  • The primary goal of virtual prototyping is to eliminate the need for fabricating physical prototypes, and to reduce cost and time for developing new products. A virtual prototyping seeks to create a virtual environment where the development of a new model can be flexible as well as rapid, and experiments can be carried out effectively concerning kinematics, dynamics, and control aspects of the model. This paper addresses the virtual environment used for virtual prototyping of a passenger vehicle. It has been developed using the dVISE environment that provides such useful features as actions, events, sounds, and light features. A vehicle model including features, and behaviors is constructed by employing an object-oriented paradigm and contains detailed information about a real-size vehicle. The human model is also implemented not only for visual and reach evaluations of the developed vehicle model, but also for behavioral visualization during a crash test. For the real time driving simulation, a neural network model is incorporated into the virtual environment. The cases of passing bumps with a vehicle are discussed in order to demonstrate the applicability of a set of developed models.

인터넷 의류 판매원 한국인 가상모델 개발을 위한 연구 -20대 남녀 인체 프로모션을 중심으로- (A Study on Developing Korean Virtual Model for Internet Apparel Shopping -Men and Women's Body Proportion of 20's-)

  • This study was initiated to develop a methodology for devising Korean virtual models for apparel shopping at internet shopping site. The data base for this study was the Korean National Anthropometric Survey in 1997. The subjects were 493 women and 626 men in 20's. The researchers also measured 88 males and females in age 20's to suggest back and front depth proportions which are not available from the survey. The virtual models' figure types were classified by the heights, drop value and bust(chest) girth. It was evaluated whether it is needed to separate figure type with bust(chest) girth. The body sizes of virtual models were suggested for side view model and front view model in 13cm height. Four female virtual models were suggested for front view and side view. Eight male virtual models were suggested for front view and side view. Each virtual model's height, breadth and depth proportions were calculated. Shoulder breadth. Bust(chest) breadth, waist breadth, hip breadth and proportions were calculated for front view model. The bust(chest) depth, waist depth, abdomen depth, hip depth and proportions were calculated for side view model. Height proportions were suggested for female and male virtual models.

  • In this paper, we propose how to determine the optimal camera position using inverse kinematics of virtual link model and manipulability measure. We model the variable distance and viewing direction between a target object and a camera position as a virtual link. And, by using inverse kinematics of virtual link model, we find out regions that satisfy the direction and distance constraints for the observation of target object. The solution of inverse kinematics of virtual link model simultaneously satisfies camera accessibility as well as a direction and distance constraints. And we use a manipulability measure of active camera system in order to determine an optimal camera position among the multiple solutions of inverse kinematics. By using the inverse kinematics of virtual link model and manipulability measure, the optimal camera position in order to observe a target object can be determined easily and rapidly.

  • Proposed in the paper is a V-FMS (Virtual Flexible Manufacturing System) model to be used as a prototyping tool for FMS design. The proposed V-FMS framework follows an object-oriented modeling (OOM) paradigm and is based on a set of user requirements for FMS prototyping. The V-FMS model consists of four types of object: virtual device, transfer handler, state manager and flow controller. A virtual device model, which corresponds to a static model in OOM, consists of two parts, shell and core, for reusability. A transfer handler corresponds to a functional model of OOM and it stores low level device commands required to perform job flow operations between giving and taking devices. The state manager and the flow controller constitute a dynamic model of OOM. The proposed V-FMS model has been implemented for a couple of linear type FMS-lines

가상현실 기반에서 차량 운전자 거동의 가시화 (Motion Visualization of a Vehicle Driver Based on Virtual Reality)

  • Virtual human models are widely used to save time and expense in vehicle safety studies. A human model is an essential tool to visualize and simulate a vehicle driver in virtual environments. This research is focused on creation and application of a human model fer virtual reality. The Korean anthropometric data published are selected to determine basic human model dimensions. These data are applied to GEBOD, a human body data generation program, which computes the body segment geometry, mass properties, joints locations and mechanical properties. The human model was constituted using MADYMO based on data from GEBOD. Frontal crash and bump passing test were simulated and the driver's motion data calculated were transmitted into the virtual environment. The human model was organized into scene graphs and its motion was visualized by virtual reality techniques including OpenGL Performer. The human model can be controlled by an arm master to test driver's behavior in the virtual environment.

ARX모델기반 가상센싱을 통한 사장교 케이블의 장력 추정 (Estimation of Cable Tension Force by ARX Model-Based Virtual Sensing)

  • Sometimes, it is impossible to install a sensor on a certain location of a structure due to the size of a structure or poor surrounding environments. Even if possible, sensors can be frequently malfunctioned or improperly operated due to lack of adequate maintenance. These kind of problems are solved by the virtual sensing methods in various engineering fields. Virtual sensing technology is a technology that can measure data even though there is no physical sensor. It is expected that this technology can be also applied to the construction field effectively. In this study, a virtual sensing technology based on ARX model is proposed. An ARX model is defined by using the simulated data through a structural analysis rather than by actually measured data. The ARX-based virtual sensing model can be applied to estimate unmeasured response using a transfer function that defines the relationship between two point data. In this study, a simulation and experimental study were carried out to examine the proposed virtual sensing method with a laboratory test on a cable-stayed model bridge. Acceleration measured at a girder is transformed to estimate a cable tension through the ARX model-based virtual sensing.

  • Virtual reality technology can be defined as human-computer interface that makes virtual place of specific environments or situation is an interactive computer-generated experience taking place within a simulated environment. In order to combine virtual reality technology of domestic nuclear power industry, the R&D Project has been developing a virtual/augment reality system for nuclear power plant from April 2018 to March 2021. To effectively apply virtual reality technology of domestic nuclear industry, it is necessary to build virtual space similar to real environment. Therefore, This study is analysed 3d model status for nuclear power plant during the life-cycle, and suggested a method to build 3D cad model close to real environment.
