  • According to rapid developments in data communication, we have being used every infromation with ease. In receiving and transmitting the infromation acquired, it is being needed to transmit it with minimizing bits if possible. Therefore this paper suggests the efficient coding system, that is, OCM(Octal-Compact Mapping) technique. In case of average-case, it has 3.5bytes in entropy with 8 symbols. This means it is compressed more than at least 1 byte as compared with another coding techniques. It decreases the redundancy of data and is superior to another data compression techniques.

  • This paper suggests a new coding method for the parallel machine which compresses the data be reducing redundancy. Paral-lel Dynamic octal Compact Mapping (PDOCM) compresses at least 1 byte per word compared with other coding techniques and achieves a 54. 188-fold speedup with 64 processors to transmit 10 million charac-ters.

  • This paper presents CTP (Compact Translation Page), a compact representation of translation pages, for page mapping-based flash translation layers to improve RAM utilization and reduce the response time of solid state drives. CTP can store translation information twice in a translation page and the total number of translation pages stored in flash is reduced to half. Therefore, CTP halves the RAM size of the directory of translation pages and uses the saved RAM space for translation cache. CTP shows the best response time when compared to existing page mapping-based flash translation layers.

  • We investigate the multiple solutions for a parabolic boundary value problem with jumping nonlinearity crossing no eigenvalues. We show the existence of the unique solution of the parabolic problem with Dirichlet boundary condition and periodic condition when jumping nonlinearity does not cross eigenvalues of the Laplace operator $-{\Delta}$. We prove this result by investigating the Lipschitz constant of the inverse compact operator of $D_t-{\Delta}$ and applying the contraction mapping principle.

  • Let E and F be Banach spaces with $X{\subset}E$ and $Y{\subset}F$. Suppose that X is weakly compact, convex and has the fixed point property for a nonexpansive mapping, and Y has the fixed point property for a multivalued nonexpansive mapping. Then $(X{\oplus}Y)_p$, $1{\leq}$ P < ${\infty}$ has the fixed point property for a multi valued nonexpansive mapping. Furthermore, if X has the generic fixed point property for a nonexpansive mapping, then $(X{\oplus}Y)_{\infty}$ has the fixed point property for a multi valued nonexpansive mapping.

  • We show that every $\varepsilon-approximate$ Jordan functional on a Banach algebra A is continuous. From this result we obtain that every $\varepsilon-approximate$ Jordan mapping from A into a continuous function space C(S) is continuous and it's norm less than or equal $1+\varepsilon$ where S is a compact Hausdorff space. This is a generalization of Jarosz's result [3, Proposition 5.5].
