  • We show that on a Hermitian surface M, if M is weakly *-Einstein and has J-invariant Ricci tensor then M is Einstein, and vice versa. As a consequence, we obtain that a compact *-Einstein Hermitian surface with J-invariant Ricci tensor is $K{\ddot{a}}hler$. In contrast with the 4- dimensional case, we show that there exists a compact Einstein Hermitian (4n + 2)-dimensional manifold which is not weakly *-Einstein.

  • We discuss relations between Galois coverings of compact Riemann surfaces and their Jacobi varieties. We prove a theorem of a kind of Galois correspondence for Abelian subvarieties of Jacobi varieties. We also prove a theorem on the sets of points in Jacobi varieties fixed by Galois group actions.

  • A compact model of tunnel field effect transistor (TFET) has been developed. The model includes a surface potentia calculation module and a band-to-band-tunneling current module. Model comparison with TCAD shows that the mode calculates TFET surface potential and drain current accurately.

Wearing Performance of Garment for Emotional Knitted Fabrics Made of PTT/Tencel/Cotton MVS Blended Yarns (II) (PTT/Tencel/Cotton 친환경 MVS 혼방사 편성물의 물성에 관한 연구 (II))

  • This paper investigated the wearing performance of knitted fabrics made of air vortex yarns using PTT/tencel/cotton fibres in comparison with ring and compact yarns for emotional garment. Wicking property of knitted fabric made of MVS yarns was worse than those by ring and compact yarns, however, drying property of knitted fabric made of MVS yarns was better than those by ring and compact yarns, which was explained as more water vapor transport due to larger openness between fibres in the MVS yarns than those in the ring and compact yarns. Thermal conductivity of knitted fabric made of MVS was lower than those of ring and compact yarns and maximum heat flow(Qmax) at the transient state of MVS knitted fabric was lower than those of ring and compact yarns, which may be attributed to MVS yarn structure that has parallel fibres in the core part of the yarn and fasciated fibre bundles on the sheath part with roughness on the yarn surface. However, pilling of MVS knitted fabric was better than those by ring and compact yarns, which was caused by less and shorter hairy fibres protruded from MVS yarn surface than those of ring and compact yarns. It was observed that tactile hand of MVS yarn knitted fabrics was stiffer than those of ring and compact yarns knitted fabrics. It was explained by low extensibility and compressibility and high bending and shear rigidities of the MVS yarn knitted fabrics, which resulted in bad wearing performance of MVS knitted fabric.

  • A novel compact circular polarization operation of the microstrip antenna with four-slits and T-slits is proposed. The mechanism for compact size antenna is investigated with the behavior of the currents on the radiating patch. The equivalent surface current path due to the slits is lengthened, reducing the resonant frequency at a fixed patch size. The proposed compact CP design can have an antenna size reduction of about 33 ∼ 45% as compared to the conventional microstrip antenna. Details of the experimental and measured results are presented and analysed.

Fabrication of compact surface structure by molar concentration on Sb-doped SnO2 transparent conducting films (안티몬 도핑된 주석 산화물 투명전도막의 몰 농도에 따른 치밀한 표면 구조 제조)

  • Sb-doped $SnO_2$ (ATO) transparent conducting films are fabricated using horizontal ultrasonic spray pyrolysis deposition (HUSPD) to form uniform and compact film structures with homogeneously supplied precursor solution. To optimize the molar concentration and transparent conducting performance of the ATO films using HUSPD, we use precursor solutions of 0.15, 0.20, 0.25, and 0.30 M. As the molar concentration increases, the resultant ATO films exhibit more compact surface structures because of the larger crystallite sizes and higher ATO crystallinity because of the greater thickness from the accelerated growth of ATO. Thus, the ATO films prepared at 0.25 M have the best transparent conducting performance ($12.60{\pm}0.21{\Omega}/{\square}$ sheet resistance and 80.83% optical transmittance) and the highest figure-of-merit value ($9.44{\pm}0.17{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}^{-1}$). The improvement in transparent conducting performance is attributed to the enhanced carrier concentration by the improved ATO crystallinity and Hall mobility with the compact surface structure and preferred (211) orientation, ascribed to the accelerated growth of ATO at the optimized molar concentration. Therefore, ATO films fabricated using HUSPD are transparent conducting film candidates for optoelectronic devices.

A Feasibility Study on the Surface Hardening of Sintered Iron Nanopowder by Plasma Ion Nitriding (플라즈마 이온질화에 의한 Fe 나노분말소결체의 표면경화 가능성 연구)

  • This study has been performed on the full density sintering of Fe nanopowder and the surface hardening by plasma ion nitriding. The Fe sintered part was fabricated by pressureless sintering of the Fe nanopowder at $700^{\circ}C$ in which the nanopowder agglomerates were controlled to have 0.5-5 ${\mu}m$ sized agglomerates with 150 nm Fe nanopowders. The green compact with 46% theoretical density(T.D.) showed a homogeneous microstructure with fine pores below 1 ${\mu}m$. After sintering, the powder compact underwent full densification process with above 98%T.D. and uniform nanoscale microstructure. This enhanced sintering is thought to be basically due to the homogeneous microstructure in the green compact in which the large pores are removed by wet-milling. Plasma ion nitriding of the sintered part resulted in the formation of ${\gamma}$'-$Fe_4N$ equilibrium phase with about 12 ${\mu}m$ thickness, leading to the surface hardening of the sintered Fe part. The surface hardness was remarkably increased from 176 $H_v$ for the matrix to 365 $H_v$.

  • On a compact n-dimensional manifold M, it has been conjectured that a critical point metric of the total scalar curvature, restricted to the space of metrics with constant scalar curvature of volume 1, should be Einstein. The purpose of the present paper is to prove that a 3-dimensional manifold (M,g) is isometric to a standard sphere if ker $s^*_g{{\neq}}0$ and there is a lower Ricci curvature bound. We also study the structure of a compact oriented stable minimal surface in M.

  • In this article, the concept of rigidity of smooth surfaces in the three dimensional Euclidean space which naturally arises in elementary geometry is introduced, and the natural process of the development of rigidity theory for compact surfaces and its generalizations are investigated.
