Optimal Extraction Conditions of Anti-obesity Lipase Inhibitor from Phellinus linteus and Nutritional Characteristics of the Extracts

  • In an effort to develop novel mushroom-derived anti-obesity nutraceuticals, water and ethanol extracts containing the lipaseinhibitory compound from Phellinus linteus were prepared, and their nutritional components were determined. The optimal conditions for the extraction of P. linteus lipase inhibitor involved the treatment of the fruiting bodies with distilled water at $80^{\circ}C$ for 72 hr and 80% ethanol at $100^{\circ}C$ for 60 hr, respectively. The distilled water extract and ethanol extract contained 10.9% and 6.11% of crude protein, and 0.96% and 15.86% of crude fat, respectively. Additionally, the distilled water extract contained a large quantity of minerals, including 239.5 mg of K, 39.3 mg of Mg, and 39.3 mg of Na. The free amino acid content of the distilled water extracts was also higher than that of the ethanol extracts, and in particular, the distilled water extracts contained 5,139 mg of asparagine, 3,891 mg of tryptophan, 2,598 mg of alanine, and 2,066 mg of serine in 100 g of the distilled water extracts. 100 g of the distilled water and ethanol extracts were found to contain 12.31 g and 8.16 g of malic acid, respectively.

율피증류한약의 피부개선 효과연구 (A study on the skin improvement effect of Castanea crenata Inner Shell distilled herbal medicine)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this research was to find out the efficacy of Castanea crenata Inner Shell (CCIS) distilled herbal medicine on the skin by comparing the difference effect between only simple distilled water and the CCIS distilled herbal medicine application after MTS (microneedle therapy system) treatment. Methods: The present author performed once a week and total 4 times of MTS treatment. The treatment time took about 5~10 minutes and the depth of the needle was adjusted according to the participant's skin condition. In the control group, simple distilled water was applied after MTS and in the experimental group, CCIS distilled herbal medicine was applied. One week after each treatment, the change of skin condition was measured. Two weeks after the end of the clinical trial, the skin condition was checked again. Results: In the case of the test group, there was a significant decrease in pore size and there was a significant increase in U-zone oil, skin tone and elasticity. The test group using distilled herbal medicine showed a significant effect on facial skin compared to the control group using only simple distilled water. Conclusion: Distilled herbal medicine showed an effective action on facial skin. In the case of CCIS distilled herbal medicine, it was found to have a significant effect on U-zone oil content, skin tone, pores, and skin elasticity.

  • Recently Bentonite mat is applied various structure : External waterproofing for underground structure, A reclaimed land, Artificial lake, Large-scaled civil structure, etc. With these various structure environment, water quality for application of Bentonite Mat affects watertightness. Specially spot with a large quantity of Chloride ion like salt water, degree of watertightness revelation is evaluated and applied. In this study, it is a main goal to investigate watertightness of Bentonite Mat with distilled water and salt water dissolved chloride ion Contents 0.88%. The result of this paper is as follows. 1) Water permeability coefficient of Bentonite Mat : distilled water(1.21$\times$10$^{-9}$cm/sec), salt water(3.12$\times$10$^{-7}$cm/sec). 2) Variation of thickness : distilled water(187%), salt water(108%). 3) Swelling ratio : distilled water(1500%), salt water(350%).

휴믹물질의 오존산화에 관한 기초연구 (A fundamental study on ozone oxidation of humic substances)

  • The purpose of study were to research the characteristics of water variation adding humic acids to distilled water after ozonation. Upon investigating pH variation with contact time after providing distilled water+air, distilled water+ozone and distilled water-humic acid-air in reactor, it reduced after 60 minute in inletting air and in spite of short contact time did suddenly in inletting ozone. TOC and UV-254 continued to increase with contact time of ozone and humic acids. $NH^{4+}-N$ did slowly increase or decrease after constant contact time of ozone, because $NH^{4+}-N$ was converted into $No^3-N$ by ozone. T-N did suddenly increase after 90minute, but T-P did rarely fluctuate for total experiment. Total 30 species of organic matter were detected by GS/MSD, but 14 species did really tend to increase except for matter identified in distilled water and blank test. Humic acids generated $aliphatic{\cdot}aromatic$ hydrocarbon, alcohol and amine etc., and did various matters without inflow course of contaminants.

태양열을 받는 경사진 육면체 내 해수의 응축특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Condensation Characteristics of Sea Water in the Tilted Box with Solar Radiation)

  • To find effective way of the production of distilled water for drought and flood with solar radiation, three boxes were made same base each 1000mm ${\times} $1000mm and tops are 45 degree. Individual boxes contained the sea water, rain water and surface water were placed at the same location and same time. Condensation of each box has been compared. On clear day production of distilled water in the box with sea water was 36% and 32% less than boxes with rain water and surface water. The maximum condensation reached when the temperature of the top and bottom parts are equal. As concentration of sea water increased production of distilled water was decreased. In the box with sea water, the surface temperature was lower than 3cm below the surface. Optimum collector area for producing distilled water 2000ml of these three boxes were $3.75m^2$

세가지 수계 추출 용매를 사용한 은행잎 추출액의 염색성 및 항균성 (Dyeability and Antibacterial Activity of Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract Using Three Kinds of Aqueous Extraction Solvents.)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate dyeing properties and antibacterial activities of cotton and silk fabrics treated with Ginkgo biloba leaf extracted with three kinds of aqueous solvents: distilled water, electrolytic reduction water and electrolytic oxidation water. The optimum dyeing condition of Ginkgo biloba leaf was 120 min at 8$0^{\circ}C$. Electrolytic reduction water had the highest dyeability to both cotton and silk compared with electrolytic oxidation water and distilled water. A color of extract by distilled water and electrolytic oxidation water showed yellowish Yellow Red, extract by electrolytic reduction water showed reddish Yellow Red. Irrespective of kinds of extraction solvents, appropriate acidity of medium was pH 9∼11 and pH 3 for cotton and silk fabrics, respectively. Colorfastness to laundering and Light fastness showed generally low but crocking fastness was excellent. Antibacterial activities of the treated fabrics above were 99.9%.

천연염색 직물의 기능성 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Functional Improvement of Natural Dyed Fabrics)

  • In this study, a dye bath was made using a mixture of distilled water, pine needle extract and bamboo vinegar. Analysis and comparison of various functions of cotton fabrics dyed using bamboo charcoal and gardenia seeds in distilled water and in the dye bath mixture were done. The summary of the results is as follows. Comparing bamboo vinegar and the pine needle extracts, the bamboo vinegar had a higher antibacterial function. In the case of natural dyeing cotton fabrics using bamboo charcoal and gardenia seeds, the additional amount of dyestuff for optimization is 10 g and 20 g respectively per 1 liter of distilled water. The suitable dye bath mixture ratio of distilled water, pine needle extract, and bamboo vinegar considering functionality and economical efficiency of dyed fabrics is 4:3:3. By using the mixture made in this study as a dye bath, improved antibacterial function, deodorization, and colorfastness can be obtained more than distilled water alone.

청송약수를 이용한 면 제조 및 조리에 관한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on Noodle Making and Cooking with Cheong-song Mineral Water)

  • 청송약수가 가진 Ca, Mg 등의 풍부한 미네랄 성분을 면 제조에 이용하기 위한 기초연구를 하였다. 실험결과를 증류수와 수돗물을 이용한 면과 비교하였다. 약수로 제조한 면을 증류수로 조리한 실험 결과, 중량, 부피, 수분흡수율, 탁도, 명도(L)에서 가장 큰 값을 보였으며, 적색도(a)는 가장 큰 음의 값을 나타내었다. 이는 약수를 이용할 때에 증류수나 수돗물보다 더 큰 중량, 부피, 수분흡수율, 탁도, 명도를 가진 초록색을 띤 조리된 면을 만들 수 있었다. 분산분석 결과, 중량과 부피에서 증류수로 제조된 면과 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 수분흡수율, 탁도, 명도(L), 적색도(a), 황색도(b)에서 증류수, 수돗물로 제조된 면과 유의한 차이를 보였다. 또한 시판 칼국수의 조리에 약수를 이용한 결과, 중량과 적색도(a)에서 증류수, 수돗물로 조리된 면과 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 무게, 부피, 명도(L)에서 증류수로 조리된 면과 유의한 차이를 보였다.

붉나무.참싸리.비수리 종자의 침지 처리가 발아에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Germinations in Soaking Treatment of Rhus chinensis, Lespedeza cyrtobotrya and Lespedeza cuneata)

  • Herbs and shrubs are employed for environmental restoration purposes. Among common herbs and shrubs, few species with low germination rates were selected and studied for enhanced germination rates and decreased germination times via soaking treatment. Rhus chinensis, incubator grown samples treated with the bacterial solution for 72hrs followed by immediate seeding showed the highest germination rate of 26.7% and germination period of 5.7 days, 3 days decrease from the control. Treatment of distilled water (t=3.79, p<0.01), nutrient broth (t=4.44, p<0.00) and bacterial solution (t=4.42, p<0.00) showed highly significant difference. In the case of soil tests, treating in the nutrient broth for 72 hrs followed by immediate seeding yielded the the highest germination rate of 23.3% with 7.3 days to initial germination, a decrease of 14.7 days with respect to the control. All the samples followed by immediate seeding showed significant difference (t=2.13, p<0.05). Incubator grown samples of Lespedeza cyrtobotrya showed different results. The incubator samples suspended for 48 hrs in distilled water followed by immediate seeding and 1 day drying displayed the highest germination rate of 96.7%, surpassing that of the control by 33.4%. The incubator samples treated with the distilled water and nutrient broth showed enhanced germination. But only the samples treated with distilled water and nutrient broth for 48hrs showed the increased germination in soil tests. All the sample treated for 24 hrs followed by immediate seeding or dried for 1 day showed initial germination as early as 1 day in incubator. The initial germinations were shortened in the samples treated with distilled water and nutrient broth for 48hrs in soil tests. Lespedeza cuneata incubator sample treated with nutrient broth for 24 hrs and dried for 1 day exhibited the highest germination rate of 83.3%, a 31.1% improvement over the control. The incubator samples treated with distilled water for 48 hrs (t=4.20, p<0.01) showed effective increase of germination. The treatment of distilled water (t=2.96, p<0.05) and bacterial solution (t=2.24, p<0.05) showed significant difference. The germination rates in soil were less than those of incubator and the control. The incubator samples treated with distilled water and bacterial solution displayed 1 day germination period, shortened by 1.3 days compared to the control. For soil grown samples, the samples treated with distilled water showed delayed initial germination and those treated with nutrient broth for 48hrs and bacterial solution for 72hrs shortened initial germination.

수중운동이 스테로이드를 투여한 흰쥐의 골격근 무게 및 단백질 함량에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Aquatic-Exercise on Skeletal Muscle Weight and Myofibrillar Protein Content of Rats with Steroids Injection)

  • The purpose of this study was to know the effect of aquatic-exercise on muscle atrophy which induced by steroid injection. The forty-eight Sparague-Dawley adult male rats were assigned to the 4 groups; Group I (distilled water injection), Group II (steroid injection), Group III (distilled water injection with aquatic exercise), Group IV (steroid injection with aquatic exercise). We observed their body weight, muscle relative weight, myofibrillar protein content. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Body weight was decreased rapidly on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups after 2 weeks (p<0.01), but that was almost recovered as before test on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise. 2. The relative weight of gastrocnemius muscles was decreased on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups. however, Decrease of it on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise for steroid injection group was fallen. There was very significant difference after 4 weeks (p<0.01). 3. Myofibrillar protein content of gastrocnemius muscles was decreased on steroid injection groups in comparison with distilled water injection groups. however, Decrease of it on steroid injection group with aquatic exercise for steroid injection group was fallen. There was significant difference after 4 weeks (p<0.05).
