The Transfer Effect of Media Image Meaning presented Graduate Reflex (졸업영상에 나타난 영상의미 전달 효과)

  • The application of reflex media in education has been widely used in the aspects of teaching & learning method, humanitarian education and the culture of school lives. It has been resulted from the generality of the applicable scope within conveying the information, propagation velocity, and the efficiency of the amount of conveyable information through the reflex. To utilize this kind of efficiency of reflex media in producing new graduation culture, I intend to show students the graduate reflex including their 3years' school lives and try to find out its effect from them. And then with this result I have studied the changes of the students' behavior in the graduation ceremony. As a result It is shown that the intent of graduation reflex which aims to look back into their past and keep in mind it has been reflected to students. In addition it is prove ascertain their friendship and love for their school have been lifted while watching the reflex with transferring the media image message.

Stay or Return?: Key Decision Factors of Foreign STEM Talents in Korea

  • Korea has pursued an aggressive policy of inviting more foreign-born students to its universities since the late 1990s in the wake of the globalization of education markets and its changing demographic structure. While increasingly more students from Asia come to Korea for study, more than half of the graduates return home upon graduation. Given the issues of brain drain, brain circulation, and knowledge transfer that are raised by such a high return rate, this paper examines the factors that frame the foreign students' decision on their post-graduation careers. By analyzing survey data, we report that Asian students majoring in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are more likely to return than non-STEM majors. This suggests that Korea's aggressive policies of inviting foreign-born students have contributed to brain circulation and knowledge transfer between Korea and the other Asian countries. We also find that scholarships from Korean sources and positive attitudes toward Korean culture and life increase their inclination to stay in the country upon graduation. These findings, however, raise more questions than answers, since it becomes obvious that their post-graduation decisions are highly affected by what Korea as a society provides.

  • In general, design education related to transportation has been recognized as a department specialized in transportation design or as an area of detailed transportation majors within industrial design majors. However, as technological, social, and environmental factors change, the concept of mobility and the ecosystem related to the mobility industry are diversifying, and accordingly, the category of mobility-related design is expanding further. Based on this background, this study is not a mobility design major, but it aims to find implications by analyzing the trend and type of topic selection related to the mobility ecosystem among the last five years of graduation design topics conducted in the design engineering major. As a result of the study, of a total of 131 graduation design works conducted over the past five years, about 30 works were highly related to mobility, and their types were very diverse. In conclusion, it was confirmed that the change and expansion of the mobility ecosystem expanding from products to services and systems were also reflected in the selection of graduation works in that various topics approached from user-centered and user experience were proposed and made into works.

Adaptation to Clinical Experience by Older Graduate Nurses who Entered Nursing after Graduation in Another Field (편입과정을 거쳐 입사한 신규간호사의 적응경험)

  • Purpose: With the increasing opportunities for students to transfer into nursing from other departments or after graduation, it is important to examine how these students adapt to clinical work in the hospital setting after graduation. This study was done to describe the adaptation experience of older graduate nurses in hospital settings and to understand the meanings and search the nature of their experience. Method: For this study, the participants were 6 nurses who entered nursing after having graduated from college or university in another field. The data were collected through in-depth interviews from March to April 2007 and analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: The essential themes of the adaptation experience for older graduate nurses were the following 6 categories: taking responsibilities for the expected role according to one's age, following the rules of senior-junior hierarchy, being ambivalent about one's older age, expanding one's support system, getting rid of the concept of age difference and establishing the expected position appropriate for one's career. Conclusion: For older graduate nurses, interpersonal relationship factors were more important than work related factors. Therefore, it is important to create a more flexible nursing culture to ease the adaptation of these older graduate nurses.

  • In this study, the case of capstone design course operation for the execution of SW development-oriented projects in the field of computer engineering is presented, and a 3-tier capstone design model is proposed through the case. Recently, most engineering departments operate capstone design classes, but in many cases, capstone design courses are generally operated in the graduation year. Students taking these capstone design courses are experiencing difficulties in the process of actually coding and implementing together with the collaboration process according to the team project class operation, but before these difficulties, derivation and verification of possible ideas and concrete ideas It is showing more difficulties in the process. In this study, in order to efficiently operate the capstone design and create results, in the second semester prior to graduation, students, professors, and mentors from industry mentors will work together to develop ideas through an idea tone contest, etc. Through the second semester, we propose a 3-tier capstone design model that can advance the idea and actual implementation and implementation of the derived ideas.

  • This is a study to evaluate the effects of the change of EMT students' acceptance on meaning "Korean style translation of EMT". The major instruments of this study were Korean Self-Analysis Acceptance Opinionnaire. This Questionnaire contains 3 items which measure students' opinions or attitudes. The data were analyzed by the path analysis - with SPSS and AMOS package program. The result are as follows: 1) Y(before admission) = $0.11{\times}1$(teaching)+$0.12{\times}2$(elder)+$0.57{\times}2$(peer)+E. 2) Y(student) = $0.87{\times}1$(teaching)+$0.49{\times}2$(elder)+$0.59{\times}2$(peer)+E. 3) Y(before graduation) = $0.57{\times}1$(teaching)+$0.63{\times}2$(elder)+$0.73{\times}2(peer)$+E.

A Survey of Drinking Behavior by College Students in Jeju (제주지역 일 대학 학생들의 음주문화 실태 조사)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the culture of college students in Jeju Province related to drinking alcohol and to analyze the relationship between drinking culture and social characteristics of the students. Methods: A questionnaire was distributed to 295 students at a college in Jeju province, students who met the criteria for the final analysis. Results: The results revealed that drinking most frequently began after graduation from high school (41.7%) and the reason for drinking was to get along with others (48.7%) and normal drinkers were common (69.6%). Gender, residence, experience of black outs and not to wishing to drink alcohol were significantly related to drinking characteristics. Satisfaction with college life, satisfaction with interpersonal relationships and stress level were not correlated with alcohol consumption. Conclusion: Educational and college authorities need to acknowledge colleges' responsibility in relation to their students' drinking behavior and to commit themselves to support an environment of responsible alcohol use.

The Effects of Artists' Education Level, College of Graduation and Gender on Art Sales Possibility and Art Price: Focusing on MANIF Art Fair Market (미술작가의 최종학력, 출신학교 및 성별이 작품 판매 여부와 작품 판매 가격에 미치는 영향: 아트페어 마니프 시장을 중심으로)

  • This study investigated whether artists' education level, college of graduation, and gender have any influences on artists' premium which leads to higher sales possibility and art price using Art Fair Market data. We found that artists' education level do not have statistically significant effects on either sales possibility or art price. But, artists' college of graduation which was measured by artists' undergraduate school level(high or low) has significant effects on both sales possibility and art price. Artists' gender also has a significant effect on art price, although it does not have any significant effect on sales possibility. These results imply that artists' educational level or degree does not exert significant impacts on artists' premium, while the level of college that artists attended indeed has a significant effect on artists' premium. They also imply that gender plays a role in Korean art market.

Nutrition Knowledge and Need for a Dietary Education Program among Marriage Immigrant Women in Gyeongbuk Region (경북지역 결혼이주여성의 영양지식 및 식생활 교육 프로그램 요구도 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic materials and assistance for developing a nutritional education program targeting marriage immigrant women, and it was carried out on 86 female marriage immigrants living in the Gyeongbuk region. An average age of the female marriage immigrants who participated in this survey were 28.6 years, and their home countries were the Philippines (32.6%), Vietnam (29.1%), and so on. Exactly 59.3% of subjects had been married for 1~5 years, and 40.7% of the subjects had an education status of less than middle school graduation. The majority of them (65.1%) had one more children, and 51.2% of subjects were a part of a nuclear-family, with the husband's age between 40~49 years old (58.1%). Concern for nutrition label was significantly different according to number of children (P<0.01), period of marriage (P<0.001), and education level (P<0.05). It was demonstrated that a higher level of education was associated with a higher need to learn about nutritional information. Understanding nutritional facts and knowledge was significantly higher among the women with two children than no child (P<0.05), period of marriage >10 years than <1 year (P<0.01), and education level of college & university graduation than less than middle school (P<0.05). Sixty percent of the women surveyed participated in the education program of 'Korean language' as they were in their country, and the most preferred education program was 'Korean dietary life and culture' (39.5%). Regarding participation and educational method, the majority of subjects responded that they wanted to learn nutritional education in a cooking academy or school (52.9%) and public health center (34.1%).
