  • The commutative product of the distributions $x^r lnx and $x^{-r-1}$ is evaluated for r=0,1,2,.... The commutative product of the distributions $x^rln(x+i0) and $(x+i0)^{-r-1}$ is also evaluated for r=1,2,.... Further products are deduced.

  • In this paper, some general results for obtaining recurrence relations between product moments of order statistics for doubly truncated distributions are established. These results are then applied to some specific doubly truncated distributions, viz. doubly truncated Weibull, Exponential, Pareto, power function, Cauchy, Lomax and Rayleigh.

  • In this paper, we study both slant 3nd semi-slant sub-manifolds of an almost product Riemannian manifold. We give characterization theorems for slant and semi-slant submanifolds and investigate special class of slant submanifolds which are product version of Kaehlerian slant submanifold. We also obtain integrability conditions for the distributions which are involved in the definition of a semi-slant submanifold. Finally, we prove a theorem on the geometry of leaves of distributions under a condition.

  • Even though sojourn time distributions are essential information in analyzing queueing networks, there are few methods to compute them accurately in non-product form queueing networks. In this study, we model the location process of a typical customer as a GMPH semi-Markov chain and develop computationally useful formula for the transition function and the first-passage time distribution in the GMPH semi-Markov chain. We use the formula to develop an effcient method for approximating sojourn time distributions in the non-product form queueing networks under quite general situation. We demonstrate its validity through numerical examples.

  • In this paper we introduce two products of tempered distributions with positive support. These products are based in the Laguerre representation of distributions. We calculate some products as, $[{\delta}]x^{\lambda}_+={\delta}[x^{\lambda}_+]=0\;and\;[x^{\lambda}_+]x^{\mu}_+=x^{{\lambda}+{\mu}}_+$ for appropriate ${\lambda}$ and ${\mu}$.

  • This paper considers warranty servicing for repairable products when product lifetimes are phase-type(PH) distributions. Two replace-repair strategies are analyzed based on renwal processes. The quantities of interest can be expressed in terms of the renewal function which, in general, is very difficult to evaluate. By exploiting properties of PH distributions we obtain simplification to evaluate these performance measures. Numerical examples for four different PH distributions with typical functions are presented and the results are discussed.

  • The vibrational predissociation of triatomic, i.e., atom-diatom, van der Waals complexes in transient electronic excited state has been widely investigated. The predissociation rates or lifetimes are major concerns of the previous studies. Experimentally rotational state distributions of diatomic product are hardly investigated and few theoretical stuides on rotational state distributions have appeared in literature. In this work, choosing the frequently studied $I_2(B)-Ne$ complex as an example, we investigate the change of rotational state distributions of $I_2(B)-Ne$ produced from predissociation of the various initial states of $I_2(B)-Ne$. The present study on the rotational distributions indicates that rotational state distributions depend significantly on the predissociation energy and the van der Waals vibrational modes of $I_2(B)-Ne$. That is, the initial state dependency of rotational state distributions is extensively discussed.

  • Abstract. Camilo Dagum proposed several variants of a new model for the size distribution of personal income in a series of papers in the 1970s. He traced the genesis of the Dagum distributions in applied economics and points out parallel developments in several branches of the applied statistics literature. The main aim of this paper is to define a bivariate Dagum distribution so that the marginals have Dagum distributions. It is observed that the joint probability density function and the joint cumulative distribution function can be expressed in closed forms. Several properties of this distribution such as marginals, conditional distributions and product moments have been discussed. The maximum likelihood estimates for the unknown parameters of this distribution and their approximate variance-covariance matrix have been obtained. Some simulations have been performed to see the performances of the MLEs. One data analysis has been performed for illustrative purpose.
