  • Power generator is one of the most important component of electricity generation system to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy. I t designed robustly to maintain high system reliability during operation time. But unexpected failure of the power generator could happen and it cause huge amount of economic and social loss. To keep it from unexpected failure, health prognostics should be carried out In this research, We developed a health prognostic method of stator windings in power generator with statistical data analysis and degradation modeling against water absorption. We divided whole 42 windings into two groups, absorption suspected group and normal group. We built a degradation model of absorption suspected winding using Fick's second law to predict upcoming absorption data. Through the analysis of data of normal group, we could figure out the distribution of data of normal windings. After that, we can properly predict absorption data of normal windings. With data prediction of two groups, we derived upcoming Directional Mahalanobis Distance (DMD) of absorption suspected winding and time vs DMD curve. Finally we drew the probability distribution of Remaining Useful Life of absorption suspected windings.

  • An ideal right-angled pentagon in hyperbolic 4-space ${\mathbb{H}}^4$ is a sequence of oriented geodesics ($L_1,{\ldots},L_5$) such that $L_i$ intersects $L_{i+1},i=1,{\ldots},4$, perpendicularly in ${\mathbb{H}}^4$ and the initial point of $L_1$ coincides with the endpoint of $L_5$ in the boundary at infinity ${\partial}{\mathbb{H}}^4$. We study the geometry of such pentagons and the various possible augmentations and prove identities for the associated quaternion half side lengths as well as other geometrically defined invariants of the configurations. As applications we look at two-generator groups ${\langle}A,B{\rangle}$ of isometries acting on hyperbolic 4-space such that A is parabolic, while B and AB are loxodromic.

  • This paper describes operational characteristics of wind turbine induction generators interconnected with distribution networks using PSCAD/EMTDC. Due to the simple and durable structure, induction generators are the most common type used in wind Power generation. Generally, induction generators are classified into two groups according to the shape of rotor, one is squirrel-cage type and the other is wound-rotor type. In this study, we simulate the start-up and the output variation of generators interconnected with distribution networks and compare the operational characteristics of squirrel -cage type and wound-rotor type induction generators located in the unfaulted distribution lines about the disturbance occurred on the associated distribution feeders emanated from the substation to which wind turbine generator is connected. In order to obtain the realistic results, we use the radial distribution network of IEEE 13-bus model.

  • A limit point p of a Mobius group acting on$ B^m$ is called a concentration point if for every sufficiently small connected open neighborhood of p, the set of translates contains a local basis for the topology of p. For the case of two generator Schottky groups acting on $B^2$, we give characterizations for several different kinds of limit points.

  • (G, <) is an ordered group if'<'is a total order relation on G in which f < g implies that xfy < xgy for all f, g, x, y $\in$ G. We say that (G, <) is centrally ordered if (G, <) is ordered and [G,D] $\subseteq$ C for every convex jump C $\prec$ D in G. Equivalently, if $f^{-1}g f{\leq} g^2$ for all f, g $\in$ G with g > 1. Every order on a torsion-free locally nilpotent group is central. We prove that if every order on every two-generator subgroup of a locally soluble orderable group G is central, then G is locally nilpotent. We also provide an example of a non-nilpotent two-generator metabelian orderable group in which all orders are central.

  • In this paper we analyze the code sequence generating algorism defined on $GF(2^n)$ proposed by S.Bostas and V.Kumar[7] and derive the implementation functions of code sequence generator using Boolean functions which can map the vector space $F_2^n$ of all binary vectors of length n, to the finite field with two elements $F_2$. We find the code sequence generating boolean functions based on two kinds of the primitive polynomials of degree, n=5 and n=7 from trace function. We then design and implement the code sequence generators using these functions, and produce two code sequence groups. The two groups have the period 31 and 127 and the magnitudes of out of phase(${\tau}{\neq}0$) autocorrelation and crosscorrelation functions {-9, -1, 7} and {-17, -1, 15}, satisfying the period $L=2^n-1$ and the correlation functions $R_{ij}({\tau})=\{-2^{(n+1)/2}-1,-1,2^{(n+l)/2}-1\}$ respectively. Through these results, we confirm that the code sequence generators using boolean functions are designed and implemented correctly.

  • In this paper, we propose the non-blocking pattern generator(NBPG) for banyan ATM switches and evaluate the performance by simulation. The proposed NBPG first classifies input cells into two groups. the conflict intended cells are assigned to their new non-blocking input addresses by the conflict table. Simulation results show that the NBPG generates non-blocking address patterns with minimal changes.

  • For hydrogen-cooled large turbine generators, partial discharges in ground wall insulations are suppressed by high hydrogen pressure. The first goal of the experiment is to investigate the effect of hydrogen pressure on partial discharge activity and aging rate in turbine generator winding insulations. A series of tests have been performed on two groups of the accelerated aging experiments. The first group of stator windings was aged under hydrogen pressure of 4 atm while the second group of stator windings was aged under air atmosphere. The stator windings aged under air atmosphere suffer from larger partial discharge magnitude with larger voids at high electrical stress than those under hydrogen pressure. The second goal of the experiment is to evaluate the validity of on-line measurement technique which is normally measured under hydrogen environment. The test results show that further experiments are needed to apply the on-line scheme to turbine generator being under high hydrogen pressure.

  • Six-step commutation control widely used in brushless DC (BLDC) motor can be applied to consequent pole permanent magnet (CPPM) belt starter generator (BSG) with trapezoidal back electromotive force (EMF) in the starter state. However, rotor position detection with three Hall sensors in BLDC motor can hardly be employed in CPPM BSG due to asymmetric flux distribution in each pole side of CPPM BSG. This paper presents a low-cost rotor position detection method for CPPM BSG in which six Hall sensors are proposed to be used based on the analysis of flux distribution by 3D FEA. In the method, the six Hall sensors are divided into three groups and two signals in each group are combined through performing logic operations. In addition, offset angle between back EMF and the related Hall signal can be compensated by moving the Hall sensors. Experiments of a 2 kW CPPM BSG prototype have also been performed to verify the proposed method.
