  • The integral solution for a deterministic evolution equation was introduced by Benilan. Similarly, in this paper, we define the integral solution for a stochastic evolution equation with a state-dependent diffusion term and prove that there exists a unique integral solution of the stochastic evolution euation under some conditions for the coefficients. Moreover we prove that this solution is a unique strong solution.

  • In this paper, we will discuss existence of solution of square-mean pseudo almost automorphic solution for fractional stochastic evolution equations driven by G-Brownian motion which is given as c0D𝛼𝜌 Ψ𝜌 = 𝒜(𝜌)Ψ𝜌d𝜌 + 𝚽(𝜌, Ψ𝜌)d𝜌 + ϒ(𝜌, Ψ𝜌)d ⟨ℵ⟩𝜌 + χ(𝜌, Ψ𝜌)dℵ𝜌, 𝜌 ∈ R. Furthermore, we also prove that solution of the above equation is unique by using Lipschitz conditions and Cauchy-Schwartz inequality. Moreover, examples demonstrate the validity of the obtained main result and we obtain the solution for an equation, and proved that this solution is unique.

  • This paper is concerned with the positive definite solutions of the nonlinear matrix equation $X-A^*{\bar{X}}^{-1}A=Q$, where A, Q are given complex matrices with Q positive definite. We show that such a matrix equation always has a unique positive definite solution and if A is nonsingular, it also has a unique negative definite solution. Moreover, based on Sherman-Morrison-Woodbury formula, we derive elegant relationships between solutions of $X-A^*{\bar{X}}^{-1}A=I$ and the well-studied standard nonlinear matrix equation $Y+B^*Y^{-1}B=Q$, where B, Q are uniquely determined by A. Then several effective numerical algorithms for the unique positive definite solution of $X-A^*{\bar{X}}^{-1}A=Q$ with linear or quadratic convergence rate such as inverse-free fixed-point iteration, structure-preserving doubling algorithm, Newton algorithm are proposed. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of all the theoretical results and the behavior of the considered algorithms.

  • In this paper we study the dynamics of a general ${\omega}-periodic$ model. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the global stability of zero steady state of the model are given. The conditions under which there exists a unique periodic solutions to the model are determined. We also show that the unique periodic solution is the global attractor of all other positive solutions. Some applications to mathematical models for cancer and tumor growth are given.

  • The vector wave equation is widely used in electromagnetic wave analysis. This paper solves the vector wave equation using curl-conforming finite elements. The variational problem is established from Riesz functional based on vector wave equation and the unique existence of weak solution is explored. The edge elements are used in computation and the simulation results are compared with those obtained from a commercial simulator, ANSYS HFSS (high-frequency structure simulator).

  • We study the existence and uniqueness of nonnegative singular solution u(x,t) of the semilinear parabolic equation $$ u_t = \Delta u - a \cdot \nabla(u^q) = u^p, $$ defined in the whole space $R^N$ for t > 0, with initial data $M\delta(x)$, a Dirac mass, with M > 0. The exponents p,q are larger than 1 and the direction vector a is assumed to be constant. We here show that a unique singular solution exists for every M > 0 if and only if 1 < q < (N + 1)/(N - 1) and 1 < p < 1 + $(2q^*)$/(N + 1), where $q^* = max{q, (N + 1)/N}$. This result agrees with the earlier one for N = 1. In the proof of this result, we also show that a unique singular solution of a diffusion-convection equation without absorption, $$ u_t = \Delta u - a \cdot \nabla(u^q), $$ exists if and only if 1 < q < (N + 1)/(N - 1).

  • We prove the existence of a unique positive solution for a class of systems of the following nonlinear suspension bridge equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions and periodic conditions $$\{{u_{tt}+u_{xxxx}+\frac{1}{4}u_{ttxx}+av^+={\phi}_{00}+{\epsilon}_1h_1(x,t)\;\;in\;(-\frac{\pi}{2},\frac{\pi}{2}){\times}R,\\{v_{tt}+v_{xxxx}+\frac{1}{4}u_{ttxx}+bu^+={\phi}_{00}+{\epsilon}_2h_2(x,t)\;\;in\;(-\frac{\pi}{2},\frac{\pi}{2}){\times}R,$$ where $u^+={\max}\{u,0\},\;{\epsilon}_1,\;{\epsilon}_2$ are small number and $h_1(x,t)$, $h_2(x,t)$ are bounded, ${\pi}$-periodic in t and even in x and t and ${\parallel} h_1{\parallel}={\parallel} h_2{\parallel}=1$. We first show that the system has a positive solution, and then prove the uniqueness by the contraction mapping principle on a Banach space

  • Retail sales forecast is a special area of forecasting. Its unique characteristics call for unique data models and treatment, and unique forecasting processes. In this paper, we will address lessons learned and challenges encountered in retail sales forecast from a practical and technical perspective. In particular, starting with the data models of retail sales data, we proceed to address issues existing in estimating and processing each component in the data model. We will discuss how to estimate the multi-seasonal cycles in retail sales data, and the limitations of the existing methodologies. In addition, we will talk about the distinction between business events and forecast events, the methodologies used in event detection and event effect estimation, and the difficulties in compound event detection and effect estimation. For each of the issues and challenges, we will present our solution strategy. Some of the solution strategies can be generalized and could be helpful in solving similar forecast problems in different areas.

  • Numerical stability is studied based on numerics and mathematics. It is frequently observed in the region where velocity is zero. In that region, the Euler equation have numerous solutions and, thus, it is impossible to determine a unique solution with only governing equations. However, a unique solution can be determined by additional outer flow conditions or outer numerical discontinuity calculation since the information or a unique solution under undisturbed conditions is lost by disturbances. In this reason, the numerical scheme comsistent with Euler equations cannot remove shock instability completely.
