  • Let be a weighted projective line defined over the algebraic closure $k={\bar{\mathbb{F}}}_q$ of the finite field q and σ be a weight permutation of . By folding the category coh- of coherent sheaves on in terms of the Frobenius twist functor induced by σ, we obtain an q-category, denoted by coh-(, σ; q). We then prove that coh-(, σ; q) is derived equivalent to the valued canonical algebra associated with (, σ).

  • An efficient parallel algorithm is presented to find a maximum weight independent set of a permutation graph which takes O(log n) time using O($n^2$/ log n) processors on an EREW PRAM, provided the graph has at most O(n) maximal independent sets. The best known parallel algorithm takes O($log^2n$) time and O($n^3/log\;n$) processors on a CREW PRAM.

  • Many manufacturers applying third party logistics (3PLs) have some challenges to increase their logistics efficiency. This study introduces an effort to estimate the weight of the delivery trucks provided by 3PL providers, which allows the manufacturer to package and load products in trailers in advance to reduce delivery time. The accuracy of the weigh estimation is more important due to the total weight regulation. This study uses not only the data from the company but also many general prediction variables such as weather, oil prices and population of destinations. In addition, operational statistics variables are developed to indicate the availabilities of the trucks in a specific weight category for each 3PL provider. The prediction model using XGBoost regressor and permutation feature importance method provides highly acceptable performance with MAPE of 2.785% and shows the effectiveness of the developed operational statistics variables.

  • This paper suggests an efficient software implementation of lightweight encryption algorithm PRESENT which supports for secret key lengths of 80-bits. Each round of PRESENT is composed of the round key addition, substitution, and permutation and is repeated 31 times. Bo Zhu suggested combined substitution and permutation for efficient operation so that encryption throughput has been increased 2.6 times than processing substitution and permutation at separate times. The scheme that suggested in this paper improved the scheme of Bo Zhu to reduce the number of operation for the round key addition, substitution, and permutation. The scheme that suggested in this paper has increased encryption throughput up to 1.6 times than the scheme of Bo Zhu but memory usage has been increased.

  • We have used multifactor dimensionality reduction(MDR) method to study interaction effect of statistical model in general. But MDR method cannot be applied in all cases. It can be applied to the only case-control data. So, two methods are suggested E-MDR and D-MDR method using regression tree algorithm and dummy variables. We applied the methods on the identify interaction effects of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) responsible for longissimus mulcle dorsi area(LMA), carcass cold weight(CWT) and average daily gain(ADG) in a Hanwoo beef cattle population. Finally, we compare the results using permutation test.

  • Interval mapping using microsatellite markers was employed to detect quantitative trait loci (QTL) in the experimental cross between Berkshire and Yorkshire pigs. In order to derive critical values (CV) for test statistics for declaring significance of QTL, permutation test (PT) of Churchill and Doerge method(1994) and the analytical method(LK) of Lander and Kruglyak(1995) were used by each trait and chromosome. 525 $F_2$ progeny phenotypes of five traits(carcass weight, loin eye area, marbling score, cholesterol content, last back fat thickness) and genotypes of 125 markers covering the genome were used. Data were analyzed by line cross regression interval mapping with an F-test every by 1cM. PT CV were based on 10,000 permutations. CV at genome-wise test were 10.5 for LK and ranged from 8.1 to 8.3 for PT, depending on the trait. CV, differed substantially between methods, led to different numbers of quantitative trait loci (QTL) to be detected. PT results in the least stringent CV compared at the same % level.

  • A new computer algorithm is described to order the restriction fragments of plasmid DNA which has been cleaved with several restriction endonucleases in single or double digestions rapidly with realistic error rates. The permutation and high weight on small fragments methods construct all logical circular map solutions. The program is written in Apple BASIC and run on an Apple II plus microcomputer with 64K memory. Several examples are presented which indicate the high efficiency of the profram in construction possible restriction map for YEp24.

  • The problem of scheduling in permutation flowshops has been extensively investigated by many researchers. Recently, attempts are being made to consider more than one objective simultaneously and develop algorithms to obtain a set of Pareto-optimal solutions. Varadharajan et al. (2005) presented a multi-objective simulated-annealing algorithm (MOSA) for the problem of permutation-flowshop scheduling with the objectives of minimizing the makespan and the total flowtime of jobs. The MOSA uses two initial sequences obtained using heuristics, and seeks to obtain non-dominated solutions through the implementation of a probability function, which probabilistically selects the objective of minimizing either the makespan or the total flowtime of jobs. In this paper, the same problem of heuristically developing non-dominated sequences is considered. We propose an effective heuristics based on simulated annealing (SA), in which the weighted sum of the makespan and the total flowtime is used. The essences of the heuristics are in selecting the initial sequence, setting the weight and generating a solution in the search process. Using a benchmark problem provided by Taillard (1993), which was used in the MOSA, these conditions are extracted in a large-scale experiment. The non-dominated sets obtained from the existing algorithms and the proposed heuristics are compared. It was found that the proposed heuristics drastically improved the performance of finding the non-dominated frontier.

  • ARIA is a 128-bit block cipher having 128-bit, 192-bit, or 256-bit key length. The cipher is a substitution and permutation encryption network (SPN) and uses an involutional binary matrix. This structure was efficiently developed into light weight environments or hardware implementations. This paper shows that a careless implementation of an ARIA on smartcards is vulnerable to a differential power analysis attack This attack is realistic because we can measure power consumption signals at two kinds of S-boxes and two types of substitution layers. By using the two round key, we extracted the master key (MK).

  • Molecular genetic markers were genotyped used to detect chromosomal regions which contain economically important traits such as growth traits in pigs. Three generation resource population was constructed from a cross between the Korean native boars and Landrace sows. A total of 193 F2 animals from intercross of F1 were produced. Phenotypic data on 7 traits, birth weight, body weight at 3, 5, 12, 30 weeks of age, live empty weight were collected for F2 animals. Animals including grandparents (F0), parents (F1), offspring (F2) were genotyped for 194 microsatellite markers covering from chromosome 1 to 18. Quantitative trait locus analyses were performed using interval mapping by regression under line-cross model. To characterize presence of imprinting, genetic full model in which dominance, additive and imprinting effect were included was fitted in this analysis. Significance thresholds were determined by permutation test. Using imprinting full model, four QTL with expression of imprinted effect were detected at 5% chromosome-wide significance level for growth traits on chromosome 1, 5, 7, 13, 14, and 16.
